Chery’s LUXEED Announces Six New Models

Chinese automakers are increasingly venturing beyond their home markets. Chery remains one of the most ambitious players, preparing for a broad international expansion through another subbrand—this time a premium one called LUXEED. According to information published by void.id, the manufacturer plans to introduce six new vehicles to global markets that fall under the NEV (New Energy Vehicles) category, including electric and electrified cars.

The models announced include the SUV Stormax, the luxury van LLounge, and four additional SUVs designated temporarily as numbers 3, 5, 7, and 9. According to promotional materials cited by the website, the lineup will be divided into three model lines along with several drive train options.

A brand created by Chery and Huawei

LUXEED is a relatively new brand. It was established in 2023 through the partnership between Chery and Huawei. Both companies aim to create premium vehicles that utilize advanced digital technologies and driver assistance systems.

The first phase of the global rollout is set to feature two models. The SUV RX, sold in select markets under the name Stormax, and the large van V9, which will be offered as LLounge outside of China. According to information cited by void.id, Australia is one of the first countries to receive both vehicles. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed launch timelines for specific markets or prices for customers outside of China.

Stormax is intended to be the brand’s flagship model

The greatest interest currently lies with the Stormax, which is the global version of the model known in China as the Luxeed RX. This car measures 5020 mm in length and was designed as a luxury five-seater SUV. It is equipped with up to 98 sensors responsible for operating driver assistance systems, as well as advanced seats featuring active side support. The manufacturer also claims a trunk volume of 622 liters, along with an additional storage compartment hidden under the floor.

Depending on the powertrain version, the Stormax is expected to deliver between 371 HP and 586 HP. Batteries with capacities ranging from 81.1 to over 100 kWh are available. According to China’s CLTC testing procedure, its range is said to be between 700 and 852 km. The void.id website estimates that when converted to the WLTP standard, this corresponds to approximately 574-699 km.

LLounge targets the luxury van segment

The second pillar of expansion is LLounge, a large seven-seater van with a length of over 5.3 meters. Designed with a 2+2+3 seating arrangement, it aims to compete with the most luxurious models in this segment. Features listed by void.id include a 25-speaker audio system, a LiDAR sensor with 896 lines of resolution, a dual-chamber pneumatic suspension, and a steerable rear axle.

In the Chinese market, the model uses an EREV system, which means it is an electric vehicle with extended range. The internal combustion engine does not directly power the wheels but functions as an energy generator for the battery. According to the manufacturer, the car can travel between 285 and 305 kilometers solely on electric power in the CLTC cycle.

First test drives ahead of global debut

Preparations for the international launch are already well underway. As reported by Business Insider (BI), during the Chery International User Summit 2026 in Wuhu, China, international test drives of the LLounge and Stormax models were held with the participation of journalists and automotive influencers from Thailand, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The test route was 185 kilometers long and included both expressways and challenging mountain sections. Participants were able to test the Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) system as well as the components responsible for driving comfort. According to reports cited in the announcement, participants emphasized that Stormax offered “better performance than expected” and “very positive surprises behind the wheel.” However, these are opinions from attendees of an event organized by the manufacturer and should be viewed as first impressions rather than independent comparative tests, adds BI’s editorial team.

Could LUXEED models make it to Poland?

So far, Chery has not confirmed plans to introduce the LUXEED brand in Poland. It is known, however, that the company itself is consistently expanding its presence along the Vistula River. The current lineup includes the Tiggo 4 HEV, Tiggo 7 in gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in versions, as well as the larger SUVs Tiggo 8 PHEV and Tiggo 9 PHEV.

However, LUXEED’s global expansion shows that Chery’s ambitions extend far beyond the popular SUV segment. The manufacturer is placing increasing emphasis on technologies developed in collaboration with Huawei, as well as on more premium models designed to compete with established brands from Europe, Japan, and Korea.
