Volvo news: SUV with 810 km range, truck with 700 km range plus loader and excavator

Volvo’s electric vehicles make their debut at Ecomondo in Rimini. The event takes place from November 3 to 6, 2026, at the Fiera di Rimini. The Group, a winner of our Vaielettrico Awards, will be represented by Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Car Italia, and Volvo Financial Services. New electric models include a truck with a range of 700 km, the L90 Electric loader, the EWR150 Electric excavator, and the Volvo EX60: an electric SUV with an 810 km range that can recharge 340 km in just 10 minutes.
At Ecomondo, the FH Aero Electric Extended Range model debuts with a range of 700 km.
At the Rimini fair, there will be a tribute to the company’s first century of operations with the national premiere of the new Volvo FH Aero 100 Years Edition, a commemorative model created to celebrate Volvo’s centennial. What about electric trucks? The new Volvo FH Aero Electric Extended Range makes its debut, offering increased range. Equipped with the new e-axle technology and higher onboard energy capacity, this electric truck can achieve up to 700 km of range on a single charge. It opens up new possibilities for long-distance routes.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to educate visitors about how electric trucks work. A Fleet220 charging station will be set up at the booth to demonstrate to visitors how charging can be integrated into the daily operations of transportation companies and support the transition toward electrification.

Giovanni Dattoli, CEO of Volvo Trucks Italy, highlights the company’s green journey. “At Ecomondo, we want to show how the future of transportation is being shaped through different but complementary technologies. The Volvo FH Aero 100 Years Edition celebrates the path that has brought us here, while the new FH Aero Electric Extended Range and our solutions powered by renewable fuels demonstrate how innovation is already providing customers with practical tools to reduce emissions without compromising productivity and efficiency. For a hundred years, we have developed technologies to serve people and businesses, and we continue to do so with the same goal.”
New electric work machines: the L90 Electric loader
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has announced its presence in Rimini with new electric construction machines, adding to its range of zero-emission solutions. The L90 Electric wheel loader and the EWR150 Electric excavator are the latest additions to the market, “supporting customers’ goals of reducing reliance on fossil fuels.”

In particular, in Rimini discussions will focus on the first electric rubber shovel of its class: the 15-ton L90 Electric, described as a “versatile solution suitable for a wide range of tasks.” Where can it be used? For moving industrial materials, forestry, agriculture, and landscaping work, as well as in quarries and mines, for waste management and recycling. The L90 Electric features a transmission designed by Volvo, specifically built for electric platforms. Its battery life is noteworthy—it can operate for about 6 hours in most medium-intensity applications and up to 8 hours in lighter tasks. Digitally, operators can access functions and tools through an intuitive interface that integrates Volvo Co-Pilot and a rear camera, if available.
The EWR150 Electric Rubber-Track Excavator: Up to 10 Hours of Operation
A new addition is the first EWR150 Electric rubber-track excavator with a capacity of 15–17 tons, offering a compact solution for use in cities and confined spaces. This versatile machine is designed for various applications in construction, roadwork, utility installation, and landscaping. It also stands out when compared to other brands. “While other manufacturers offer converted electric options for this type of machine, the EWR150 Electric comes factory-fitted — making it significantly more energy-efficient than its competitors and resulting in lower total ownership costs.”

Innovation lies in the new transmission system. An electric translation motor, combined with a hydraulic energy recovery system for the arm, helps ensure longer operational range—typically up to 10 hours depending on the application—thanks to its advanced batteries.
Ecomondo also features Volvo Connect and Site Solutions, solutions aimed at “increasing productivity, eliminating machine downtime, and reducing costs and emissions, while offering access to experts in Volvo Construction Equipment’s new technologies and services.”
Volvo EX60: the electric SUV with an 810 km range and the ability to recharge 340 km in 10 minutes.
Volvo Car Italia introduces the Volvo EX60 at Ecomondo, a mid-size premium SUV. It features 800V technology and can achieve an impressive range of 810 kilometers, “the highest in its class with a single charge in all-wheel-drive configuration. This not only makes it Volvo Cars’ electric vehicle with the greatest range to date but also sets a new benchmark for its segment. Similarly, it holds the record for charging speed as well: the EX60 can add up to 340 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes at an ultrafast charging station.”

The Volvo EX60 is packed with technology. Artificial Intelligence, which manages certain functions of the car, “ensures a higher level of safety and enables an unprecedented and revolutionary user interface. In fact, thanks to Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, occupants can effectively converse with the car to exchange information.”
Besides its electric powertrain, emissions are reduced thanks to recycled materials (especially the interior trims) and cutting-edge production methods such as megacasting (which replaces over a hundred smaller parts with a single casting process). Finally, there’s the cell-to-body technology (with batteries integrated into the vehicle’s frame structure).
The EX60 is Volvo’s first all-electric vehicle fully designed, developed, and built in Sweden. The EX60 is based on the SPA3 platform, a new scalable product architecture specifically designed for electric technology.
