Exciting updates in the electric scooter sector: new models and range specifications from the world’s leading brand

Segway is introducing the ZT3 MAX and MAX G3 Pro models today, aiming to maintain its leadership in the ‘premium’ scooter sector. Based on what’s been shown, we believe it will continue to dominate this exclusive market.
Most importantly, European users wanted to know “how far can my electric scooter actually go at the speed I usually ride at” (Johnny Zhang, Vice President of Segway’s Micromobility Business Group).
But in addition to showing us what these special scooters are like, Segway has unveiled its new formula for calculating range: now, the calculations are done not only at maximum speed, which is how scooters are typically ridden (something it had already been doing after obtaining independent certification from TÜV Rheinland), but it has also applied even more demanding real-world driving conditions.

Accuracy first
"For years, the range figures announced for electric scooters have been determined under ideal laboratory conditions at low speeds, so they often don’t reflect users’ actual riding experiences," we read in the press release provided by the brand.
In addition to the standard "Range at Max. Speed" tests it has been conducting, Segway introduces a new approach: "The various driving modes are tested at maximum speed until the electric scooter can no longer maintain 60% of that speed in that mode, without artificially limiting the speed to inflate the range figures," they say.

This provides a very realistic figure, which we appreciate as users—since we’re sometimes a bit puzzled by the overly optimistic range claims from some manufacturers. As Segway itself says, "what you see is what you get."
ZT3 MAX: Plenty of power for riding on roads too
Although electric scooters are typically designed for urban use, this ZT3 MAX is built to handle dirt roads with the sole goal of providing a great riding experience. Its motor, with up to 2,200 W of power (38% more than the ZT3 Pro), allows us to climb slopes as steep as 30%!
Segway claims that with the ZT3 MAX, starts from a stop are now faster, along with reliable acceleration on slopes. It even states that the scooter has sufficient power on most inclines to reach a top speed of 25 km/h. A clear statement of intent. The battery allows for a range of up to 60 km at full speed (25 km/h), which is an impressive figure considering the power of this ZT3 MAX.

To bring it to a stop, the dual-disc system (140 mm in diameter) with ICBS combined braking will be more than sufficient. The manufacturer claims that the braking is now more progressive without compromising stopping power—ultimately offering greater safety, something Segway has always emphasized.
To handle uneven surfaces in both large cities and rural areas, a set of hydraulic suspensions has been installed: at the front, there is a robust double-leaf fork with two adjustment stages, and at the rear, a dual shock absorber. With these new components, Segway aims for smoother performance when navigating potholes and irregular terrain.

A 12-inch front wheel and an 11-inch rear wheel have been installed (in previous models, both wheels were 11''), allowing easy navigation over obstacles. This combination provides better handling stability and makes riding over potholes and curbs much smoother.
MAX G3 Pro: For cities and surrounding areas
This e-scooter stands out for its long range, enabling us to travel from home to work or leisure locations even if they are not nearby — making it ideal for suburban areas. Its 899 Wh battery (with IPX7 water resistance) allows a range of up to 80 km at 25 km/h.

It also features an integrated fast charging system via a single cable, compatible with dual-input charging: this means we don’t need the usual external charger, so recharging it at our workplace will be more convenient since only one cable is required.
Like the ZT3 MAX, it has a dual-disc (140 mm) braking system with IBS combined braking, ensuring excellent performance in this regard (high power but controllable). It also includes front and rear suspensions, with the travel distance increased from the previous 45 mm to the current 50 mm. The goal is to achieve more precise and smoother suspensions. Similar to the ZT3 MAX, a 12-inch front wheel has been installed for the same purpose.
In the cockpit, we find a 2.4-inch color TFT screen with integrated turn-by-turn navigation, along with other features that are typical of Segway scooters and are quite advanced.
"Both new flagship models have passed Segway’s enhanced TÜV Rheinland certification tests to earn the Quality-mark and China-mark for maximum speed endurance tests," says Segway.
Furthermore, at the GPTIA 2026 awards held in collaboration with IFA Berlin, the Segway ZT3 MAX won the gold award in the All-Terrain Electric Scooter Technology category, while the MAX G3 Pro received the gold award in the Long-Range Riding Technology category.
Segway, closer to users
In addition to introducing its new scooters and a new method for calculating their range, the brand states that it “is expanding its European after-sales service network through specialized channels, with the goal of providing a faster, simpler, and more accessible service to users,” according to the press release.
This approach aims to bring services closer to customers by strengthening its local repair network through certified Segway Service Dealers. In this way, users can access faster in-store diagnostics, original parts, and specialized technical support.
There is also an interesting self-repair program to avoid having to visit stores for minor issues: this program includes original parts, tool kits, and repair videos in multiple languages, along with remote diagnostic systems, aiming to diagnose and resolve the most common problems within 30 minutes.
However, products can always be delivered to the retail location where they were purchased. For more complex repairs, Segway is expanding its network of authorized service dealers (Segway Service Dealers), which provide specialized diagnostic and repair services in-store.
The marketing of both models in our country will begin in November of this year through Segway’s official online store and the brand’s authorized service distributors. For more information: SEGWAY
