New Audi A2 e-tron: Here’s what the base version looks like without the S line kit

A few days ago, we introduced the new A2 e-tron with its S line body kit. Now we get to see what the “classic” version looks like.
The pattern is well-known: when a manufacturer unveils a new model, it shows us the most luxurious configuration—top-tier finishes, large wheels, launch-specific paint colors. Often, we have to wait for an online configurator to see what the more basic models will look like without all those optional extras!
This is the case with the new Audi A2 e-tron, officially unveiled on September 7 and now available for ordering as of September 10, with a configurator on the Audi website. This tool is particularly interesting because it shows an A2 e-tron with a look quite different from the vehicle that was shown in advance.
Classic style on the left, S line style on the right

The A2 e-tron shown to the press indeed came equipped with the S line body kit. Without this feature, the front end has changed significantly with a different bumper. This new bumper includes a simplified air intake under the grille, eliminating the elements that extended out from each side. This gives it a more classic appearance. Additionally, the decorations on the grille are no longer prominent. The black grille still covers the main lighting functions.
In the base version, the underbody panels and wheel arches are no longer in glossy black but have a raw plastic look. The same applies to the rear bumper, which is made of raw plastic with a less refined design. The mirrors are now in the same color as the body (instead of glossy black).
On the wheel side, the base version comes standard with 18-inch wheels. It almost feels like having toy wheels compared to the model shown at launch (which had 20-inch wheels)! Note however that the most powerful engines (231 and 326 hp) come standard with 19-inch wheels.
Fortunately, there are no unpleasant surprises inside—the 11.9-inch instrument display and 12.8-inch touchscreen for infotainment are standard. The base version features conventional seats with fabric upholstery. While the S line comes with sport seats, these are still standard fabric in the base model. The S line adds an stainless steel pedal set, a black roof, and a three-spoke steering wheel.
