German companies are cutting production costs; in China, refrigerators are often standard, and now the first coffee machine.

People who see premium German brands of cars side by side often discover, to their surprise, that the younger the generation, the more evident the cost-saving measures are. Meanwhile, in China, high-end models are gradually seeing refrigerators become standard equipment. It has just been revealed that the Maextro V800, a luxury electric minivan from Huawei’s Hima brand, will be the first car equipped with a built-in coffee maker. Those who wish can replace it with a safe.

Maextro V800, the car with a coffee maker

Maextro is a highly luxury brand, with many indications that it aims to compete with Maybach itself. The Maextro V800 is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV/EREV) vehicle equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged internal combustion engine generator as well as two electric motors (1+1, AWD), delivering a combined maximum power of 390 kW/530 HP (160 kW at the front, 230 kW at the rear). HIMA has been announcing this model for some time; pre-orders began on June 25, with the official market launch scheduled for August 5, 2026.

As the top-tier model, the Maextro V800 will come standard with a coffee maker. Powered by capsules, it can produce espresso or americano (diluted espresso), and it can also make tea if needed. It features a 0.5-liter water tank that can be refilled manually, as well as a parental control function. If someone doesn’t feel comfortable handling hot drinks in the cabin, they can dispose of the coffee maker for free in exchange for an additional storage compartment with a small safe (source).

The Maextro V800 is a functional counterpart (“make it as big as possible!”) to the Maextro S800, but in a van body style. The pre-order price for this model ranges from 800,000 to 1.2 million yuan. It has a length of 5.495 meters, a wheelbase of 3.43 meters (width: 2.006 meters, height: 1.85 meters), and a maximum allowable gross weight of 3.8 tons. The V800 enters the market in a segment previously dominated by Japanese (Lexus) and German (Mercedes) vehicles, and its standard equipment will include features such as lidar and active suspension.

In terms of złoty, the prices for Maextro range from 449,000 to 674,000 złoty, although at the exchange rate used by our distributors it would be more like 1.02 to 1.54 million złoty. Just over a month after the pre-sale began, Huawei announced that it had received over 10,000 orders for the Maextro V680 (the smaller and cheaper model) and V800, with 80 percent of interested buyers choosing the Maextro V800.
