New Dacia Spring: 17,900 euros and a range of 250 km
The second generation of the Dacia Spring uses the RG-EV platform, delivers 60 kW (82 hp), and has a range of up to 250 km according to WLTP standards. The 27.5-kWh LFP battery is standardly charged only via AC; DC charging at 50 kW costs an additional 500 euros. Prices start at 17,900 euros.

Dacia has unveiled the second generation of the Spring. The model retains its name but switches to Renault Group’s new city car platform, RG-EV, and has increased in all dimensions. It is manufactured at the Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. The predecessor was sold in over 40 countries since 2021, with more than 210,000 units sold, including 50,000 in Germany.
Powertrain and Performance
The Spring is powered by a permanently excited synchronous motor on the front axle. Its peak power is 60 kW (82 HP), with a maximum torque of 175 Nm. Dacia states that its continuous power output over 30 minutes is 35 kW (48 HP). It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.85 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 130 km/h.
The power transmission is handled by a single-speed gearbox, with gear selection via a lever on the steering wheel. Standard features include a B-mode for enhanced regenerative braking and an Eco-mode to optimize range. Dacia lists the vehicle’s curb weight at 1,287 kg and the maximum allowable weight at 1,590 kg.
Battery and Range
A lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a nominal capacity of 27.5 kWh is used, consisting of 90 cells at a nominal voltage of 300 V. The battery weighs 212 kg. LFP cells contain no nickel or cobalt, as Dacia cites the better availability of iron and phosphorus.
In the combined WLTP cycle, one charge allows for 246 to 250 km depending on the tires, while urban driving ranges from 373 to 377 km. The combined fuel consumption is 12.9 or 12.7 kWh per 100 km. On the highway, this rises to up to 18.4 kWh, and it drops to 8.1 kWh for short-distance driving. Dacia offers an eight-year warranty on the drive battery, limited to 120,000 km and a minimum remaining capacity of 75 percent.

Charging power and charging times
The charger is standardly single-phase with a charging capacity of up to 6.6 kW, but according to VDE-AR-N 4100, in practice 4.6 kW or 3.7 kW at 230 V is typically applied unless the utility provider approves otherwise. It takes 8:45 hours to fully charge from 0 to 100 percent on a reinforced household outlet with 3.7 kW, while it takes 13:45 hours on a standard Schuko outlet with 2.3 kW.
For an additional cost of around 500 euros, the Power Package is available. It includes three-phase AC charging at 11 kW, a CCS port for DC charging up to 50 kW, and a V2L adapter for connecting external devices. With an 11-kW wall charger, the charging time drops from 8:45 to 3:00 hours. At the fast charger, it takes 28 minutes to charge from 15% to 80%. Without this package, the Spring remains a pure AC vehicle. A five-meter-long Type-2 charging cable is included in the standard equipment, while a Schuko cable costs an extra 270 euros.
Dimensions, Interior, and Equipment
The length of the car is 3,855 mm, the width without mirrors is 1,722 mm, and the height is 1,519 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,492 mm. The trunk capacity is 337 liters, which increases to 1,283 liters when the rear seats are folded down. According to VDA standards, these figures are 245 liters and 1,033 liters respectively. The rear seat backrest can be divided in a 50:50 ratio, and the trunk floor is split into two sections. An under-hood storage compartment with 18 liters of capacity costs an additional 190 euros. The car is designed for four passengers, with a turning circle of 9.9 meters.
The range includes two trims. The Expression trim features 15-inch steel wheels, full LED headlights, manual air conditioning, electric parking brake, rear parking assist, a 7-inch driver information display, and the Media-Control system with smartphone holder. The Journey trim adds 16-inch wheels, keycard handsfree access, a rear camera, and Media Nav Live with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, connected navigation, and wireless smartphone integration. The connected services are available free of charge for five to fourteen years depending on the feature.
Prices
The Spring Expression costs 17,900 euros, the Journey 19,400 euros, both excluding delivery costs and any subsidies. Arktis-Weiß is available at no extra cost, while the special paint finishes Agave, Dolomit-Grau, and Black-Pearl-Schwarz cost 650 euros. Heated front seats available for 290 euros are reserved for the Journey model. The new car warranty lasts three years or 100,000 kilometers.
