Geely continues to expand its presence in the market for large electric SUVs. Its Lynk & Co brand has just announced the launch of the new 900L, a massive 5.28-meter-long plug-in hybrid SUV that stands out for its design inspired by the Range Rover, its 7-seater layout, and batteries that, according to reports in China, could provide up to 430 kilometers of all-electric range.

The new model will make its official debut on November 10th and is expected to reach the Chinese market before the end of 2026. It will become the third seating configuration in the Lynk & Co 900 family, which already offers 5-seater and 6-seater versions. Its introduction also responds to the increasing competition among Chinese luxury vehicle manufacturers, especially in a segment dominated by models such as the Aito M9 and the Li Auto L9.

A 5.28-meter SUV with an aesthetic reminiscent of the Range Rover

The Lynk & Co 900L features a refreshed exterior design compared to the regular 900. Its front end includes more integrated lighting units, new air intakes, and a redesigned bumper. It also retains the brand’s signature daytime running lights, while a LiDAR sensor is mounted on the windshield for driving assistance systems.

However, one of its most striking features is found on the side. The body has virtually flat surfaces, darkened pillars, and a floating roof design that inevitably reminds one of the Range Rover. This is complemented by 21-inch wheels, partially hidden door handles, and a new exterior paint color in wine red. At the rear, a light strip runs across the entire width of the vehicle, incorporating the illuminated name Lynk & Co.

Its dimensions are 5,280 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,170 mm. Compared to the regular Lynk & Co 900, it is 40 mm longer and 10 mm wider. It also features 20-degree approach and departure angles, and depending on the version, it can be equipped with a towing device capable of pulling up to 2,000 kg.

7 seats and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with two electric motors

The main novelty of the interior will be its seven-seater layout, compared to the five or six seats available in current versions. Lynk & Co has not yet revealed all the details of the interior nor confirmed the space available for passengers in the third row. The trunk capacity when all seven seats are used is also unknown.

Under the hood, the 900L will feature a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 215 horsepower, combined, according to published information, with two electric motors. The total power of the system remains unknown for now, though certification documents confirm a top speed of 225 km/h. The curb weight will range from 2,880 to 3,045 kg, depending on the configuration.

Reports from China also mention two lithium batteries using ternary chemistry, with capacities of 55.1 and 70 kWh respectively. According to China’s CLTC testing cycle, these batteries would provide ranges of up to 320 and 430 kilometers. The cells will be supplied by Times Geely, while Zhejiang Jiyao Tongxing Energy Technology will handle the battery pack assembly.

So far, the manufacturer has not announced the price of the new model nor confirmed its arrival in Europe. We will have to wait until its unveiling on November 10 to learn more details about its specifications and propulsion system, before its commercial launch in China expected at the end of 2026.
