The Microlino is now also available in Germany through an auto subscription service.
Microlino is expanding its offerings in Germany with a flexible car subscription service. Through mobility partner Faaren, the Microlino and Microlino Lite are available for 199 euros per month — including insurance and maintenance.

The Swiss electric microcar Microlino is now also available as a subscription in Germany. According to the company, this subscription service was introduced three months ago. In June as well, the company expanded its offerings with a leasing option for private customers (through Creditplus Bank). The subscription service, developed in partnership with Faaren, is intended to further diversify Microlino’s sales strategy in Germany.
The subscription offers both the Microlino Lite, limited to 45 km/h (which can be driven in Germany from the age of 15), and the Microlino with a top speed of up to 90 km/h. For both, the Swiss provider lists a monthly subscription price starting at 199 euros, without a deposit. According to the Faaren website, this rate applies to a 36-month term with 500 kilometers of monthly mileage.
"The advantages of the Microlino are best understood when you experience it in daily use: how much time is saved on finding parking and how much pleasure driving it brings. With the car subscription, interested parties can try this out over an extended period. At FAAREN, we have found
the right partner for this," says Merlin Ouboter, co-founder and CMO of Microlino.
Ouboter said the response to the subscription service launched three months ago has been positive. “In just this short period, a two-digit number of subscriptions have been secured. For Microlino, this is a clear signal that the flexible usage model also generates interest in this distinct vehicle category.”
According to Microlino’s executives, the partnership with Faaren holds further potential in the future: Faaren now offers leasing options alongside car subscriptions through its marketplace, continuously expanding the platform. Microlino, in turn, is interested in creating alternative financing and mobility options in addition to its dealer network and brand store in Munich.
The Microlino is available in two different registration classes: an L7e version with a top speed of 90 km/h and a later introduced L6e variant with a top speed of 45 km/h. For L6e vehicles, an AM driving license, also known as a moped license, is sufficient. In Germany, this can be obtained at the age of 15 as mentioned, while in other countries such as Italy, the target market for the Microlino, it is available even at 14 years old. For the L7e variant, a standard B driving license is required in Germany starting at 18 years old, but in countries like Italy, use is permitted with a special B1 license starting at 16 years old.
