Mercedes VLE: Over 80,000€ for the new electric minivan

The Mercedes VLE is available for ordering in two versions, with two or four-wheel drive, and its price ranges from 82,344 € to over 130,000 € depending on the options chosen.

Introduced last March, the VLE is now finally available for ordering in France and will be on display at Mercedes’ booth both in Hanover in a few days and in Paris next month. True to the brand’s goal of repositioning this model in higher segments by moving it away from being a “simple” utility vehicle variant, the VLE offers high-performance configurations at premium prices. The extensive range of options also allows customers to customize their vehicle according to their budget.

As announced at launch, the VLE is available in two mechanical configurations. The VLE 300 with a 203 kW electric motor costs 82,344 €. Equipped with all-wheel drive and a 305 kW motor, the VLE 400 4Matic will cost 89,763 €. In both cases, the battery capacity remains the same at 115 kWh, offering ranges of 678 km or 644 km respectively.

A true limousine

It should be clearly stated that the prices are “starting from.” This is because the costs (and ranges) will depend on the choices made regarding options. First, there are 4 equipment levels: Standard, AMG Line, AMG Line Plus, and Exclusive. Next are the seating configurations: 5, 6, 7, or 8 seats. Then there are the option packages: Advanced Package (1794 € VAT excluded), Advanced Plus Package (3884 € VAT excluded), Premium Package (7318 € VAT excluded), and Premium Plus Package (10,250 € VAT excluded). Finally, there are numerous individual options that cannot be listed in detail here.

This results in a total cost of over 130,000 € (including VAT), which gives full meaning to the term “Grand Limousine” used by Mercedes to describe its new electric minivan.

While waiting for longer wheelbase variants, as well as a VLS and its even more luxurious Maybach version, the online configurator allows users to create their own custom VLE. Four pre-defined configurations are available to simplify the process.
