Maserati is preparing a big surprise: an electric car developed with the Chinese giant Huawei?

Maserati will unveil a prototype in December that will showcase the key features of its next generation of models. Although the Trident brand was unable to attend the recent 2026 Paris Motor Show, Stellantis Group CEO Antonio Filosa emphasized the company’s commitment to its most luxurious brand in its portfolio.
"[The future of] Maserati will be presented in December, in Modena. It won’t just be slides—it will be a real plan that will ensure the future of our beloved luxury brand." Recently, Maserati’s sales have plummeted despite the introduction of models like the Grecale, which was expected to become its best-selling vehicle. What’s the solution? "Maserati needs products, Maserati needs technology, and both will be fully showcased in Modena in December."
The concept car will showcase the design language of Maserati’s next two models, the new generations of the Levante and Quattroporte. The latter could undergo a significant transformation. Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, states that “in my opinion, the future of the Quattroporte isn’t limited to a sedan. It could be something in between a shooting brake and a crossover: a large, low car to regain ground in this segment.”

A Maserati with Huawei technology?
Recent rumors suggest that Stellantis is in talks with JAC and Huawei to jointly develop new energy vehicles for Maserati. The approach of this collaboration would be similar to that of the five brands part of Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) division.
The first model resulting from this collaboration is expected to enter production during the second half of 2027. While Huawei will provide certain technologies, JAC will handle development and manufacturing. Maserati, on the other hand, will be responsible for the vehicle design. What’s most interesting is that the vehicles produced through this partnership will be sold under two different brands.

In China, they will be sold as Maextro, while in international markets they will bear the Maserati logo. Regardless, it’s important to note that there is no official confirmation yet on this matter. Some media reports suggest that negotiations between the two parties began last year.
