Lynk & Co continues to grow in every aspect. At 5.28 meters long, the Lynk & Co 900L is the extended version of Geely’s largest SUV. Its official images have just been released in China, showing a new front end and a plug-in hybrid system with a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine.

The Lynk & Co 900 entered the Chinese market in April 2025 as the brand’s flagship model, featuring six seats arranged in three rows. The L variant adds just a few extra centimeters. It features a new front design, is designed for seven passengers, and offers enhanced towing capacity—ideal for those who use the car for purposes beyond commuting to the office.

Four more centimeters and one extra seat

The 900L measures 5,280 millimeters in length, 1,999 millimeters in width, and 1,810 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 3,170 millimeters. Compared to the current 900, it is 40 millimeters longer and 10 millimeters taller. The width remains unchanged, while the track width increases by just one centimeter. This distribution indicates that almost all of the additional space goes to the fenders rather than the wheelbase. The approach and departure angles are both 20 degrees.

The homologation data indicate a seven-seater configuration. This represents a significant change from the current 900 model, which has six seats arranged in a 2+2+2 layout. Additionally, it will offer an optional tow hook capable of pulling up to 2 tons. Its European rivals include well-known models such as the Range Rover and BMW X7.

2.0T Plug-in Hybrid with CATL and Geely Batteries

The mechanical setup centers around a 2.0 turbocharged gasoline engine producing 160 kW (218 HP), paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The claimed top speed is 225 kilometers per hour. Key details such as the number and power of electric motors, total system power, and acceleration performance remain undisclosed.

The battery is a lithium-ion type with ternary chemistry (NMC). The cells are supplied by Time Geely (Sichuan), the joint venture between CATL and the Geely group that manufactures batteries in Yibin. According to the homologation documents, there will be two battery options, with capacities of 55 and 70 kWh, offering electric ranges of 245 and 320 kilometers (CLTC) respectively. In combined cycle testing, the range can exceed 1,300 kilometers (CLTC).

A new front end and a more robust appearance

Exteriorly, the most noticeable change is at the front. The headlights now form a single-piece unit but retain the daytime running light contour that identifies the 900. Within this arc-shaped lighting signature are two lenses for the main headlights. The bumper features vertical air intakes on the sides and an active grille with a honeycomb pattern. On top of the windshield, the lidar sensor for driving assistance remains in place.

The black wheel arches and floating roof enhance its urban SUV vibe. It introduces an exclusive garnet color and 21-inch tires with numerous thin spokes. At the back, there is a light strip running along the entire trunk lid, with the LYNK & CO logo illuminated in the center.

What’s still unknown

There is no price or release date available. For reference, the current 900 costs between 299,800 and 416,900 yuan in China, which is roughly 38,970 to 54,200 euros. Lynk & Co hasn’t simply stretched the body like rubber. With seven seats, batteries up to 70 kWh, and a towing capacity of 2 tons, the 900L enters the competition among large seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUVs. It remains to be seen whether 160 kW of thermal power is sufficient for a car of this size with the battery fully depleted.
