The truck loading area in Eching near Munich is being expanded
The truck charging park operated by Park Your Truck in Eching near Munich is set to be significantly expanded. In collaboration with Swiss charging infrastructure specialist Roxpay, new 400-kW fast chargers and charging stations for overnight charging will be installed first. An additional 13 fast charging stations are planned by the end of 2026. The logistics company Elflein plays a key role in this project.
The truck charging park at Dieselstraße 29 in Eching, near the Neufahrn interchange on the autobahn, is expanding. Park Your Truck is working with Swiss company Roxpay to develop it, with Roxpay handling the technical implementation and operation of the new charging infrastructure. Two ABB fast-charging stations of the A400 type, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW, are set to go into operation by August. They will be supplemented by two charging points designed specifically for charging electric trucks during longer overnight stays.
This expands on a location that electrive reported on back in the summer of 2024. At that time, Park Your Truck, under its Charge Your Truck brand, opened two CCS charging stations from Kempower, each with a 150 kW charging capacity. Even then, a significantly larger second phase involving 13 additional charging stations was planned — originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. An expansion of the power connection to three megawatts was also announced.
The further expansion will now take place later than initially planned and with a partially modified technical concept. After completing the planned expansion of the power connection, Roxpay aims to install 13 more fast charging stations in the front area of site 13 by the end of this year. Unlike in 2024, when the supplier for the additional hardware was still undecided and a maximum of 350 kW was specified for the chargers, Roxpay is now relying on charging technology from ABB.
A key player in the development of this location remains the freight company Elflein. This logistics firm uses Eching to electrify its truck fleet and was an early customer when the charging park opened in 2024. Initially, the infrastructure was intended exclusively for Elflein, but it was later made available to other users as well. Currently, Park Your Truck and Roxpay emphasize a multi-client approach: in addition to Elflein, other companies that use this site to charge and safely park their electric trucks are also set to benefit from the expansion.
"Electrifying heavy freight transport requires more than just individual charging stations," says Denise Schuster, head of Park-Your-Truck. What’s crucial are locations where charging, parking, and digital services are integrated together. Eching is not meant to be the only joint project: Park Your Truck and Roxpay are also working, according to their own statements, on charging and parking facilities for electric trucks at the port of Trier and in Bitterfeld along the A9 highway.
