Li Auto enters Europe with an electric SUV measuring 4.95 meters and offering over 600 km of range

The European market is about to welcome another Chinese electric car manufacturer. Li Auto has confirmed that it will officially introduce its first model for Europe at the Paris Motor Show in October, with the first units set to go on sale during the fourth quarter of 2026. The model in question is the Li 6, an electric SUV that is sold in China as the i6 and has become one of the brand’s most important models.

Li Auto will use the French exhibition to showcase its international lineup and outline its expansion plans in Europe. So far, the manufacturer has not confirmed which countries it will start selling in, what the price of the Li 6 will be, or what sales platform it will use.

Li Auto’s strategy will vary depending on the market. In Europe, it aims to focus on its electric models, while in the Middle East and Central Asia it will continue to prioritize SUVs with extended range. This latter lineup currently includes the L6, L7, L8, and L9, all equipped with EREV technology. In contrast, its electric lineup consists of the i6 and i8, along with the Mega.

The Li 6, the electric SUV set to arrive in Europe, was unveiled in China in September 2025. It measures 4.95 meters in length and is available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, allowing the brand to offer different options depending on the market.

In China, the rear-wheel drive version uses a 87.3 kWh battery and claims a range of up to 720 kilometers according to the CLTC testing cycle, or an estimated 620 km under WLTP standards.

The Li 6 also stands out for its performance. The version equipped with two electric motors delivers 400 kW (544 HP) and 660 Nm of torque, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. But what’s most impressive is its fast charging capability, as it supports up to 500 kW of DC power and can go from 10% to 80% charge in about 9 minutes. The AC charger offers up to 11 kW and also features a V2L function, allowing it to supply up to 3.5 kW to other electrical devices.

Li Auto is a relatively young Chinese manufacturer. The company was founded by Li Xiang in 2015 and initially focused on SUVs with extended range, before gradually expanding its lineup to include electric models. Like NIO and XPeng, it is listed in the United States since its debut on Nasdaq in 2020.

Its models stand out for their futuristic design and, above all, their strong emphasis on technology, making it one of the leaders in autonomous driving systems.

Li Auto’s entry comes at a time of significant expansion by Chinese manufacturers in Europe. Xiaomi is also preparing to enter Germany and other European markets by 2027. The company has already signed agreements with eight German dealership groups, including Emil Frey and LUEG, aiming to establish a sales and after-sales network before starting sales.
