Powerful Denza electric shooting brake spotted at Nürburgring

Denza is reportedly developing a more powerful version of its existing all-electric shooting brake model, the Z9GT. A prototype of the Z9GT “Xtreme” spotted at the Nürburgring features significant modifications, according to Auto Motor und Sport, and is said to have a power output of 1471 kW (2000 horsepower). The technology is said to be closely related to that of Denza Z’s top-tier supercar version.
The aerodynamic design sets the BYD luxury brand’s vehicle apart from the standard model, as shown in tests on the Nürburgring. The front features larger air intakes, additional openings for brake cooling, and a splitter that extends far forward. This modification is further enhanced by side air guide elements and low sills.
The rear of the Chinese electric car is equipped with a large wing mounted on swan-neck supports and a large diffuser with vertical channels. Inside the vehicle, bucket seats and a comprehensive roll cage can be identified. The suspension has been adjusted, and the powerful electric car uses performance tires on new wheels.
The Z9GT’s powertrain is based on the e³ platform and features three electric motors with all-wheel drive. One motor is located at the front axle, while two others drive the rear axle. The regular Z9GT’s technical design also includes rear-wheel steering and a central driving dynamics control system that enables maneuvers such as the “Crab Walk” (diagonal or sideways driving).
The system power of the currently available Z9GT is 850 kW (1156 horsepower), allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach speeds up to 270 km/h. With a 123-kWh battery, its range is 600 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. No date has been set for the launch of the new, even more powerful model.
