The electric SUV B03X is now available for ordering in Germany
A glimpse into the powertrain technology of China’s electric compact car can be gained from its SUV counterpart, which is available for ordering in this country since July. The 4270 millimeters long and 1636 millimeters high B03X costs starting at 24,900 euros. The electric SUV is offered in two versions: the B03X Pro and the B03X ProMax. Both variants feature rear-wheel drive and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The Pro version delivers 130 kW/174 horsepower, while the ProMax offers 145 kW/195 horsepower. The top speed is limited to 160 km/h in both cases, and both versions can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.
The main difference between the two models lies in the battery and range. The B03X Pro features a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 39.8 kWh, achieving 292 kilometers per charge according to WLTP standards. The ProMax uses a 53.0-kWh LFP battery and is said to offer 382 kilometers of range. In terms of consumption, the two versions are quite similar: Leapmotor reports 15.5 kWh per 100 kilometers for the B03X Pro under WLTP, while the ProMax uses 15.7 kWh.
The vehicle comes standard with charging at up to 11 kW of alternating current (AC). Using a 11-kW wall charger, it takes 2 hours and 30 minutes for the Pro model to charge from 30% to 80%, while the ProMax requires 3 hours and 10 minutes. For direct current fast charging (DC), the B03X Pro can draw up to 100 kW of power, and the ProMax up to 133 kW. The smaller battery pack is said to reach 80% charge in 16 minutes, and the larger one in 17 minutes. The manufacturer states that both models take 21 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
