The Eborn network exceeds one million top-ups by 2026

Last October 7th, the public charging network in southeastern France recorded its millionth charging session since January 1, 2026. This unprecedented milestone highlights the growing popularity of electric mobility in the region and underscores the investments made by local authorities.

Sustainable adoption

This was a target the eborn network had never reached before. On October 7, 2026, the network logged its millionth charging session of the year, just over nine months after it began operations. During this time, the chargers installed in the 11 departments served have supplied 19.7 million kWh to drivers of electric vehicles.

For the operator, this step, though primarily symbolic, marks “a major turning point.” It confirms, year after year, the essential role played by this public network in promoting electric mobility in southeastern France, where it serves as the leading electric charging service.

A few order of magnitude figures help illustrate the scale of usage. Over 280 days, from January 1, 2026, to October 7, a million charging sessions equate to an average of nearly 3,600 charges per day across the entire network. Based on the energy delivered, this results in an average of about 20 kWh per session.

For eborn, these results reflect the growing trust of users and the continuous expansion of electric mobility across its entire territory. They also demonstrate a shift in travel habits, whether among residents, visitors, or professionals.

This is the message from Eric Mendels, director of EASYCHARGE responsible for managing the eborn network:

“Reaching one million charging sessions marks a historic milestone for the eborn network. This achievement reflects the daily commitment of energy suppliers, our teams, our partners, and local authorities who trust us. It especially shows that travel habits are changing rapidly, and electric vehicles are now becoming an essential mobility solution.”

Over 3,400 charging points in the Southeast

The network currently has more than 3,400 charging points spread across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions, serving both electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. It continues to expand to meet the growing demand.

The goal remains unchanged: to provide residents, visitors, and professionals in the 11 departments served with a high-quality charging service that facilitates broader adoption of electric mobility. For eborn, reaching one million charging sessions underscores the network’s tangible contribution to the energy transition in transportation across these regions.

On the side of public partners, this outcome is also a form of validation. The investments made by energy unions and partner local authorities have enabled the creation of a reliable, accessible, and high-performing charging infrastructure. Founded in 2015 at the initiative of eleven energy unions, the network has relied on this local foundation since its inception.
