The Hyundai Ioniq 3 earns its eco-score: up to 6,000 euros in purchase assistance

The Hyundai Ioniq 3, manufactured in Turkey, has passed the eco-score requirement to qualify for an enhanced EU subsidy. With this maximum support, the starting price drops to 23,995 €.

Green light for the Ioniq 3. Hyundai’s new electric vehicle has met its eco-score requirements, as announced in the decree published on September 17, 2026, in the Official Journal.

Since the car is produced in Turkey, this did not prevent it from achieving the minimum environmental score needed to unlock various benefits for individuals and businesses. Obviously, the most significant benefit is the enhanced EU subsidy. For private buyers, this financial incentive ranges from 3,600 to 6,000 € depending on income levels.

This reduces the starting price from 29,995 to 23,995 euros with the maximum subsidy, for a base Select version equipped with a smaller battery (42.2 kWh) that provides a range of 344 km. The standard equipment already includes hands-free access, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring.

Hyundai expected to achieve this eco-score, but the confirmation is good news as it allows deliveries to begin, enabling customers to benefit from the enhanced subsidy. This subsidy is also an almost essential advantage for selling electric vehicles in France. For example, while the brand registered over 3,600 Ioniqs and over 4,700 Konas from January to August—both models with high eco-scores—only 197 Ioniq 5s were delivered during the same period.
