I recognize you again — and there’s plenty of room to be so small

But although Pixo is expected to be affordable, we won’t know the price until “before New Year’s.”

Nissan, like many other automakers, likes to release news in small doses, which is also a way to keep interest high.
A few weeks ago, it became known that Nissan was working on the Pixo model name. We also learned then that this small, now electric, city car would be built in collaboration with Renault, along with some other details — but we didn’t get any images of the car:
KI-assistant, Google features, and Face ID
The partnership with Renault, however, led to informed guesses like these, from an article we published a few weeks ago:
"It's likely that the electric Pixo will share a platform with the upcoming Renault Twingo E-Tech. In that case, it will feature an LFP battery with a capacity of 27.5 kilowatt-hours and an WLTP range of around 260 kilometers."
And it turns out to be true: the Pixo achieves a range of up to 259 km with a 27.5 kWt LFP battery — and this is the first time a Nissan model has been equipped with this battery technology in Europe.
There's also a lot of technology in this small car:
We mentioned that the car comes with Face ID, which recognizes the driver and automatically loads their personalized settings.
But the Pixo also includes Google Maps and other Google services directly in the car. Additionally, it features Google's AI assistant Gemini, which can be used with voice control and will learn the driver's preferences over time.
Nissan states that the AI assistant will be available in 16 languages from launch.
Nissan provides a brief visual glimpse of how Pixo can be used in daily life—through smartwatches, Nissan’s own app, and the AI assistant listed—as part of a short video they released today:
The in-car display is handled by a 7-inch driver screen and a 10-inch touch screen for infotainment purposes.
On the technology side, it features adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, file transfer capabilities, hands-free parking, and Nissan’s one-pedal system, which allows driving primarily using the gas pedal.
Impressive cargo space, but slow charging
Pixo is only 3.8 meters long, but it should accommodate four adults and offer up to 356 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded down.
With the rear seats — which are otherwise adjustable — folded down, it increases to potentially 1221 liters.
In addition, there is 18 liters of storage space in the trunk in the form of small compartments, and a separate 50-liter section in the cargo area designated for the charging cable.
If the floor level of the Pixo is high or if the car’s interior is elevated, the fast charging speed is almost antiquated at only 50 kW, but since the battery is quite small, a typical fast charge to 80 percent takes about half an hour.
Home charging/AC charging, on the other hand, is at a completely normal level of up to 11 kW.
It remains to be seen if the Pixo will sell particularly well here in Norway. The market for small car segments isn’t exactly huge in Norway, but if it’s cheap enough, anything can happen.
But the price won’t be known for several months. Based on that, we can expect the model to be available to Norwegian customers early next year.
