Kia PV7: First Images of the Electric Van
Kia has released the first images of the PV7, the second model in the PBV series. The world premiere will take place on September 14 at the IAA Transportation in Hannover – the manufacturer has not yet disclosed technical details regarding the battery and range.

Kia has published the first images and a video of the PV7. This all-electric commercial vehicle is the second model in the “Platform Beyond Vehicle” series (PBV) and will make its world debut on September 14 at the IAA Transportation in Hannover. The exhibition days for this commercial vehicle show run from September 15 to 20. In addition to the PV7, Kia plans to display several derivatives of the PV5 in Hannover, which is the brand’s first PBV model.
Larger format than the PV5
With the PV7, Kia expands its lineup in the segment of electric light commercial vehicles (eLCV). According to the manufacturer, the new model offers more space and greater versatility compared to the PV5. It is primarily aimed at commercial customers, whose needs, in the manufacturer’s view, span a wider range of business and personal applications.
Kia has not yet provided specific dimensions. The company also remains silent on topics such as payload capacity, cargo volume, or possible body configurations before the exhibition. The released images show the PV7 in everyday situations — in front of a business premises, at a flower shop, and as a support vehicle during camping — intended to illustrate the variety of use cases it is designed for.
“One Box” profile with black contrast elements
Visually, the PV7 follows the principle of a continuous box shape, which Kia refers to as the “One Box” design. The manufacturer describes its proportions as balanced and its appearance as robust. Black trim on the hood and pillars contrasts in color with the body shell.
Characteristic features also include the front and rear lights with the brand’s signature lighting pattern, intended to give PBV models a unified look. The images show closed-looking wheel covers with the Kia logo, as well as narrow, vertically positioned rear lights at the back corners.
E-GMP.S platform, technical specifications still undisclosed
Like the PV5, the PV7 is also based on the E-GMP.S platform (Electric Global Modular Platform for Service), which Kia developed using its experience with electric vehicles. The manufacturer does not provide details on power output, battery capacity, range, or charging speed in the announcement; these figures are likely to be released following the world premiere in Hanover.
Part of a broader commercial vehicle strategy
Premium vehicles like the PV7 and its future derivatives are a key component of Kia’s strategy to expand its PBV lineup and broaden its offerings in the commercial mobility sector. Presenting several PV5 variants at the same exhibition is intended to demonstrate the scalability of this approach.
For the European market, local production also plays a role: Kia has been manufacturing in the Slovakian city of Zilina since 2006, and since 2025 it has also produced fully electric models there. According to the company, one in every two Kias sold in Europe comes from European production. In Germany, the brand achieved a market share of 2.1 percent in 2025, with 2.8 percent for pure electric vehicles.
