Kia EV3 GT: How much does the 292 hp sports version of this Korean electric SUV cost?

The Kia EV3 steps up a gear with a new GT version featuring 292 horsepower and all-wheel drive. Capable of covering up to 501 kilometers on a single charge, this sporty variant is now available in France starting at 54,400 euros.

The Kia EV3 is no longer just positioned as a family electric SUV. Two years after its launch in the French market, it now comes in a much more powerful GT version. With two motors, all-wheel drive, and several specialized settings, this new edition brings a more sporty edge.

292 horsepower, 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds

Beneath its still 4.31-meter-long body, the EV3 GT now features two electric motors. The one mounted at the front generates 145 kW, while the rear unit adds another 70 kW. Together they deliver 215 kW, equivalent to 292 horsepower and 468 Nm of torque. This enables a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds, although the top speed remains limited to 170 km/h.

Kia didn’t just focus on increasing power. The EV3 GT also comes equipped with electronically controlled suspension that can anticipate road conditions using a camera, vector torque control, and a dedicated GT mode. It also features Launch Control, a virtual transmission, and artificial sound effects designed to replicate some of the sensations of a traditional car.

Up to 501 km of range

Despite this increased power, Kia claims a WLTP range of 501 km thanks to the 81.4 kWh battery. The energy consumption is 18.1 kWh/100 km. For charging, the manufacturer states that it can reach 80% from 10% in 31 minutes using a fast charger. With alternating current, the standard 11 kW charger allows the battery to go from 10% to 100% in 7 hours and 15 minutes.

A 22 kW onboard charger is available in the Advanced Charging Pack priced at 1,400 €, which also includes V2L, V2H, and V2G functions. Surprisingly at this price point, the heat pump is also an optional feature (1,000 €).

The Kia EV3 GT is available for order in France starting at 54,400 €. That’s quite expensive! The standard equipment includes an open sunroof, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, and 360° cameras. However, the heat pump remains an optional feature!
