KIA expands its electric vehicle lineup in Europe with the new EV3 GT, EV4, and EV5 GT

Following the EV6 GT and EV9 GT, KIA expands its high-performance electric lineup in the European market with the introduction of the new EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT. First unveiled at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, these three models strengthen the Korean brand’s presence in the C-segment, the most important segment on the old continent.

All of them feature all-wheel drive thanks to the use of two electric motors. They also come equipped with technologies such as a Virtual Gear Shift and the Active Sound Design system. We must also mention Launch Control, which allows for rapid acceleration from a standstill, as well as the Performance Timer.

"With the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT models, we bring the KIA GT experience to new segments and make electric performance accessible to a broader range of customers," says Pablo Martínez Masip, Vice President of Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience at KIA Europe. "Each model has its own personality, but they all share the same ambition. The GT models make electric driving more agile, more connected, and more emotional, while still maintaining the practicality in everyday use that our customers expect."

The EV3 GT delivers 292 horsepower (215 kW) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. In the official press release, KIA does not mention its range, stating only that it includes features such as semi-bucket sport seats, neon green decorative elements, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, and a torque vectoring system.

The EV3, EV4, and EV5 use 400-volt architectures

The EV4 GT, which is in the next higher tier, has exactly the same power output, though it is slightly faster (0 to 100 km in 5.6 seconds). It is available in two body styles: a hatchback with a WLTP range of 505 km, and a fastback that achieves 537 km WLTP thanks to its improved aerodynamics. The interior layout is similar to that of its smaller sibling, featuring a black and neon color scheme as well as semi-bucket seats.

The EV5 GT is in an even higher tier, delivering 306 HP (225 kW). However, because it is a larger and heavier vehicle, its 0 to 100 km/h time is 6.2 seconds. Its 81.4 kWh battery provides a WLTP range of up to 476 km. Like the EV3 GT and EV4 GT, it features an optimized suspension with stiffer springs and stabilizer bars that reduce body roll.

There are three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and GT, from least to most aggressive. It’s worth noting that while the previous EV6 GT and EV9 GT feature 800-volt architectures, the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT still use a 400-volt system; as a result, their charging times (10-80% in about 30 minutes) are far slower than those of their larger siblings.
