Jaguar claims to have received around 50,000 expressions of interest worldwide for its new electric vehicle lineup. According to brand chief Rawdon Glover, as reported by the media, about 80 percent of the registered interested parties are individuals who were not previously customers of the brand.

The registrations, according to Jaguar, are from people who want more information about the brand’s shift toward electric vehicles. These are not binding orders nor paid reservations for the new Type 01.

The Type 01 was officially unveiled in October and is the first production model of the newly positioned British luxury brand. This four-door electric grand tourer follows the Type 00 design study, which was presented in December 2024.

Jaguar ties this launch to a reorientation toward the high-end luxury segment and a fully electric model lineup. Its design features a long hood, low roofline, short front overhangs, and 23-inch wheels, carrying over the key proportions from the original study.

The registered interested parties provide Jaguar with initial insights into public reaction to the changed brand positioning. According to Glover, around 80 percent of those who submitted their data have not yet been classified as part of Jaguar’s existing customer base. By doing this, the manufacturer is targeting a different audience compared to previous internal combustion engine models such as the XE and XF.

Technically, the Type 01 is based on Jaguar’s proprietary Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). Jaguar claims a power output of 758 kW/1030 horsepower and an electric 850-volt system that supports DC charging at up to 350 kW. According to the manufacturer, under suitable charging conditions, approximately 320 kilometers of additional range can be added in 13 minutes based on US EPA standards. Jaguar states that the total range with the 118-kWh battery is 720 kilometers.

Jaguar also differs from its previous model lineup in terms of price. For the UK, the manufacturer lists an entry price of 130,000 pounds, which is approximately 154,000 euros. Production of the Type 01 is set to take place in the UK, where Jaguar has also based the development and design of this new grand tourer. Orders are expected to open in early 2027, with first deliveries planned for the second half of the year.
