We’re a family with two children and we’d like to buy our first electric car. We need a 4×4 because we live in the mountains, and we’ve fallen in love with the Subaru Uncharted 4xe. We’re lucky to have a 10kW solar panel system, but we only have a 220V charging station, even though we have a 380V setup in the garage and 10kW available at our meter. Knowing that this car charges at 22kW, I’d like to install a 380V charging station, but I’m not sure what type or brand to choose... any suggestions? Keep in mind that we sell about 3,000 kWh to Enel annually due to the excess electricity generated. In short, we average around 18,000–20,000 km per year... Answer. A car also needs to be pleasing to drive, and if you’re in love with the Uncharted…why not? Especially since Subaru is offering a discount of 5,000 euros on all versions (the 4xe with all-wheel drive goes from 47,900 to 42,900). This is a model developed in collaboration with Toyota, who contributed significantly to its creation. Subaru claims it has paid special attention to tuning the steering and suspension, in addition to refining the design, of course.

The all-wheel-drive version with a 77 kWh battery offers a range of 495 km. It features an engine per axle and a total power output of 343 HP. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is also impressive: just 5 seconds, which is extremely fast. It supports AC charging at up to 22 kW (a significant advantage) and DC charging at up to 150 kW (reaching 80% charge in 28 minutes). In short, it’s a very enjoyable car to drive, and its price is certainly competitive at this launch stage. If you prefer to spend less, there’s the base version with front-wheel drive, equipped with a 167 HP engine and a 57.7 kWh battery, offering an advertised range of 451 km. This option is also quite good.
