Just a few months after the launch of the ID. Unyx 06 and ID. Unyx 07, VW Anhui, the joint venture between VW and the JAC Group, has upgraded these two models for the Chinese market. The update includes the introduction of a LiDAR-based driver assistance system that enables autonomous driving, parking, and maneuvering in cities.
In addition, both vehicles are equipped with a new 77.5-kWh battery pack, which increases their maximum CLTC range to up to 630 km for the ID. Unyx 06 and 670 km for the ID. Unyx 07.
Competitive pressure in China: VW cuts prices drastically
With this update, VW has also significantly reduced the prices of the ID. Unyx 06 and 07. The current prices are 20,000 yuan lower than the list prices at launch in May 2026. As a result, the price of the electric sedan ID. Unyx 07 now starts at 109,900 yuan (approximately 14,630 euros) and ranges up to 149,900 yuan (approximately 19,955 euros) depending on the configuration. The SUV coupe ID. Unyx 06 is available in three variants, starting at 129,900 yuan (approximately 17,290 euros), with the top version costing 169,900 yuan (approximately 22,620 euros).
In addition, during China’s popular “Double 11” shopping festival, even lower promotional prices are available. Volkswagen Anhui is offering the entry-level ID. Unyx 07 Lite for 99,900 yuan (approximately 13,300 euros). This makes it the first VW electric vehicle in China available for under 100,000 yuan. The ID. Unyx 06 also benefits from this sales campaign, with the Lite version costing 119,900 yuan (approximately 15,690 euros).
These early model updates and price adjustments highlight the pressure Western automakers face in China. The local competition there is fierce, and the electric vehicle market is extremely competitive.
As early as September, the joint venture, in which Volkswagen holds a 75% majority stake since late 2020, reduced the price of its larger model ID. Unyx 08 by 40,000 yuan to 189,900 yuan (approximately 25,280 euros) in order to stay competitive in the dynamic Chinese EV market.
