Hyundai Staria Electric: Family van now available for order starting at 57,450 euros
Order availability for the Hyundai Staria Electric: The South Korean manufacturer has opened the configurator for the all-electric version of its family van. The Staria Electric is available in seven- or nine-seater configurations across three trim levels, with prices starting at 57,450 euros in Germany.
The Staria Electric made its world premiere in Brussels in January. About eight months later, the all-electric family van is now actually available for configuration and ordering. The Hyundai Staria has been around since 2021, but only in gasoline and full hybrid versions up to now. What’s new is the all-electric version, which, although visually similar to its engine-powered counterparts, is based on a completely different technical foundation.
The electric van features an 800-volt architecture, a battery with 84 kWh of storage capacity, and front-wheel drive delivering 160 kW of power. Hyundai now claims a range of 430 km, which is higher than the 400 km estimated at its debut. At a fast charger, the Staria Electric can go from 10% to 80% battery charge in 20 minutes. The specifications indicate a maximum charging power of 350 kW, a figure that was unknown at the launch. However, the Staria Electric is slower in terms of acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, requiring a more modest 9.5 seconds for this maneuver.
From Hyundai’s perspective, this isn’t that important either – rather, the vehicle is meant to stand out with its interior design focused on families. At its debut, the South Koreans referred to it as an “inside-out concept,” which first emphasizes the needs of passengers such as a spacious interior before turning to the exterior design, which still appears futuristic even five years after the launch of its gasoline version.
Staria Electric with seven or nine seats
The Staria Electrо is available in either a seven-seater or nine-seater configuration. According to Hyundai, the movable seats in the second and third rows allow the interior to be flexibly adjusted to various needs. The cargo space behind the third row ranges up to 435 liters for the seven-seater version and up to 1,303 liters for the nine-seater version. And no, this isn’t a typo—the nine-seater does indeed have a larger trunk space because it’s designed as a traditional, functional shuttle bus with closely spaced rows, featuring a 3+3+3 seating arrangement.
The seven-seater version is designed as a luxurious model with a lounge-like atmosphere, offering less space in the trunk. This is evident among other things through two comfortable single seats with relaxation functions in the second row, which can be adjusted electrically and come equipped with seat heating, seat ventilation, four-way adjustable leg rests, and wing-shaped headrests. Additionally, the seven-seater model features a walk-in console that facilitates access to the third row of seats.
Three trim levels for the electric van
For the Staria Electric, Hyundai offers three trim levels at launch: Trend, Prime, and Calligraphy. The Trend and Prime versions are configured as practical nine-seaters, while the Calligraphy version is a luxurious seven-seater.
The base Trend model already comes equipped with a comprehensive standard specification for 57,450 euros. This includes full-LED headlights, a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, and a similarly sized touchscreen featuring Hyundai Bluelink, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Additional standard features are front and rear parking aids, a rearview camera, and important assistance systems such as blind spot and cross-traffic warning. Moreover, a heat pump and battery heating system are also part of the standard equipment. As mentioned, the Staria Electric in this configuration has nine seats.
V2L adapter included in the assistance package
For this model, the optional Assistance Package is available for 2,100 euros. It includes a navigation system, the Autobahn Assistant 1.5, a 360-degree camera, as well as a V2L adapter for powering external devices outside the vehicle and a 230V outlet inside.
The Premium Package is also available for 2,100 euros. It features electric sliding doors on both sides of the vehicle, an electric trunk lid, sliding windows in the second row of seats, sunshades for the second and third rows, acoustic laminated glass, heat- and privacy-glazed windows, as well as a smartphone holder with wireless charging functionality.
Prime: More comfort with nine seats
In the Prime version of the Staria Elektro, starting at 63,650 euros, the assistance and premium packages are already included. Customers also receive various comfort features designed to ensure a relaxed driving experience, especially on long trips. Additionally, the Staria Elektro Prime comes standard with nine seats and leather seat upholstery. The driver’s and passenger’s seats are also ventilated.
Optionally, customers can purchase the Panorama Package for 1,300 euros. It includes a glass sliding roof above the first row of seats and a panoramic glass roof for the second row, enhancing the spacious feel inside the cabin.
Calligraphy: Staria Elektro in Elegant Script
The most premium trim level is called Calligraphy, derived from calligraphy, the art of beautiful handwriting. The Staria Elektro Calligraphy comes with only seven seats, but those in the back are significantly more comfortable than those in the nine-seater version. The starting price here is 66,950 euros. This trim level is aimed especially at customers who desire a particularly high-end interior atmosphere.
The variant includes exclusive design elements such as chrome underbody protection, aluminum-looking door sills, and a storage compartment between the driver’s and passenger’s seats featuring the Staria logo, along with ambient lighting. It also comes equipped with a Bose sound system, a leatherette roof canopy, and Nappa leather seat upholstery. The two comfort-oriented individual seats in the second row are designed to enhance travel comfort further. The Panorama Package is also available as an optional extra feature for the Calligraphy model.
