Hyundai IONIQ 3 is available in Poland for 119,900 zł. The base model comes with a 42 kWh battery, while the 61 kWh version costs 179,900 zł.

The first units of the Hyundai IONIQ 3 are set to arrive at Polish dealerships by the end of September. The starting price in Poland is 119,900 PLN gross for the Select version with a 42.2 kWh battery and a 147 HP engine. On paper, it seems like an attempt to fill the gap between urban EVs and more expensive compact cars, but the real challenges lie in the battery, equipment, and charging capabilities.

Hyundai targets customers who don’t want yet another crossover. The IONIQ 3 is 415.5 cm long, has a wheelbase of 268 cm, and a very low roofline, making it visually more similar to a hatchback than to a trendy B-SUV. The trunk space isn’t minimal either, with the manufacturer reporting 441 liters in total—322 liters in the main trunk and 119 liters in the underfloor storage area.

In the cabin, it’s not even the styling that’s most interesting, but rather the new PLEOS system based on Android. Hyundai adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while keeping physical buttons for climate control and key functions under the screen. That’s good. After years of pressing everything on the screen, this approach actually makes sense.

Polish Pricing and Trim Levels

The cheapest IONIQ 3 is the Select version at 119,900 zł. It comes with a 42.2 kWh battery, front-wheel drive, 147 HP and 250 Nm of torque, 16-inch wheels, and a WLTP range of 344 km.

Above that is the Trend version, which is the only option available with either a smaller or larger battery. The prices are as follows:

The basic Select model already doesn’t look cheap. It features a 12.9-inch central screen, dual-zone climate control, a rear camera, an intelligent cruise control with Stop&Go function, front and rear parking sensors, a blind spot assistant, and a forward collision avoidance system.

Trend adds features that are truly useful in everyday EV use. These include heated seats and steering wheel, a 9.9-inch screen in front of the driver, wireless charging, a rain sensor, tinted windows, and most importantly, heated traction batteries. It is this feature that can make a difference in winter and during fast charging.

400 V, 10-80% in 29-30 minutes and one small star

The IONIQ 3 is built on the E-GMP platform, but in this case we’re dealing with a 400 V architecture, not 800 V like in the brand’s more expensive models. Hyundai claims DC charging from 10 to 80% in about 29 minutes for the smaller battery and 30 minutes for the larger one. That sounds good, though we’re not talking about the IONIQ 5 or 6 tier here.

The standard AC charging is 11 kW, with an optional upgrade to 22 kW along with V2L functionality. The package including a 22 kW onboard charger and V2L outlets is priced at 7,200 zł. If the car will mainly be used in urban areas and charged at home, this can be skipped. It becomes more useful if the car will rely on AC charging while on the road or at public 22 kW chargers.

There’s another interesting fact. The version with a smaller battery has 147 HP, while the Long Range model only has 135 HP. So it offers greater range but less power. The difference seems small, but it’s a rather unusual setup that’s worth keeping in mind when configuring the vehicle.

Prime and N Line. This is where the upgrades begin, not a revolution.

The Prime model reaches a level where Hyundai sells not just a car but also comfort. It comes equipped with a 14.6-inch screen, BOSE audio system with 8 speakers, a 360-degree camera, a heat pump, additional driver assistance systems, and 18-inch wheels. The price rises to 175,700 zł.

The positioning of the N Line is interesting. It’s cheaper than the Prime at 170,900 zł, but it focuses more on appearance and style rather than full equipment. It features sporty accents, special 18-inch wheels, matrix headlights, N Line interior trim, and a heat pump. For some customers, this might be a better choice than the Prime if they don’t need every feature on the list.

At the top is the N Line EVO priced at 179,900 zł. It includes 19-inch wheels, better audio, acoustic glass, rear air vents, and a digital key. However, at this price point, the IONIQ 3 is no longer a cheap entry into electric mobility but starts competing in terms of equipment and style.

The most interesting option today is the Trend 61 kWh version at 152,400 zł, as it offers 488 km WLTP range, a larger battery, and a suite of features that are practical for everyday EV use. Which version would you choose: the affordable Selecta, the sensible Trend 61 kWh, or maybe just the N Line for its appearance?
