Hyundai Ioniq 3: Price starting at 99,900 złoty for ~44 (42.2) kWh and 118,900 złoty for ~64 (61) kWh? [leaks]

The Elektrowoz editorial team has received leaks regarding the price of the Hyundai Ioniq 3, an electric hatchback that directly competes with the VW ID. Polo. The version equipped with a smaller LFP battery is expected to cost as much as the base Kia EV2, while things get interesting with the larger Li-NCM battery: the Ioniq 3 model offering a range of up to 496 WLTP units is set to start at just 118,900 złoty. However, the manufacturer will configure the options in such a way as to encourage us to choose the most expensive variants.

Hyundai Ioniq 3: Price now, sales starting in a few weeks

The base version of the Hyundai Ioniq 3 with a smaller battery doesn’t seem particularly interesting, as it costs the same as the Kia EV2, which offers more comfort when getting in. But if the reports we’ve received are accurate—that is, the distributor is working to position a version with a larger battery pack in the range of 115,000 to 120,000 złoty—a hatchback that could serve as the family’s only car will enter the market. We heard a similar promise from Hyundai regarding the Kia EV3; unfortunately, the car’s high price significantly dampened our enthusiasm.

The base model with a battery capacity of ~64 (61) kWh is expected to feature a 12.9-inch central display, single-zone climate control, and an engine producing 99.5 kW/135 hp that drives the front wheels. It will also take 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. The package includes steel wheels with covers, a trunk volume of 322 liters, but it lacks even heated seats, let alone a heated steering wheel. Those seeking luxury options will need to upgrade to much higher trim levels, up to the flagship Prime version, and pay a significant extra cost. The price of the Hyundai Ioniq 3 is expected to start around 160,000 złoty, which is roughly the same range as the starting prices of the VW ID. Polo models.

The production of the Ioniq 3 began last week at a factory in Turkey. Sales across all European markets are set to start by the end of September at the latest. The planned production capacity is 30,000 units per year. The car will be powered by batteries that are also manufactured in Turkey. Turks are quite willing to buy B-segment electric vehicles (see: Renault Zoe), as long as they are reasonably priced (not see: Renault 5 E-Tech), so there is a good chance that reports of an affordable price for the Ioniq 3 will prove true.
