Hubject now provides loading data to Localiser

Hubject and Localiser are entering into a strategic data partnership. Going forward, data from Hubject’s international network will flow into Localiser’s platform. This will enable operators, municipalities, and investors to plan charging infrastructure more effectively and manage existing locations more efficiently.

As part of this partnership, Hubject provides the Berlin-based company Localiser with both Points-of-Interest data (POI) and information on the actual usage of charging stations. The data comes from Hubject’s network, which, according to the company, includes over 1.1 million charging points in more than 75 countries. Localiser intends to use this information both for evaluating new locations and for analyzing existing charging infrastructure.
Localiser’s platform is aimed at Charge Point Operators (CPOs), municipalities, and investors, enabling them to evaluate potential locations for charging infrastructure. According to the company, more than 35,000 such location assessments are conducted each month. Data on population, traffic, points of interest, and competition is already incorporated into forecasts for energy demand and utilization rates. The additional Hubject data is designed to supplement these calculations with real usage patterns from a large charging network.
"Charging infrastructure is only useful to drivers if it is built where it is actually needed," says Hubject’s CEO, Christian Hahn. By integrating network data, location decisions can be based more heavily on actual usage patterns rather than solely on forecasts.
Hubject Data for Existing Charging Parks Too
The collaboration isn’t limited to determining where new charging stations should be built. Localiser aims to use Hubject data to optimize existing locations as well. Through dashboards and reports, operators can track market developments and compare the utilization of their own charging stations with aggregated data from the network.
In doing so, the partners address an increasingly important issue in expanding charging infrastructure: alongside having as many charging stations as possible, their economic efficiency is gaining more attention. For new locations, real usage data from similar charging stations can help better assess demand and potential profitability.
"The charging infrastructure industry must continue to professionalize, with operators needing to shift their focus not only to planning but also to optimizing operations," says Oliver Arnhold, CEO of Localiser. Hubject’s data is intended to provide both comparative metrics for planned or expanded locations and market insights for existing charging stations.
The data partnership agreed upon now is seen by Hubject and Localiser as a first step toward broader collaboration. The goal is to improve the economic viability of charging networks, thereby supporting further development of public charging infrastructure in Europe.
