Up to 439 km for just 18,500 €: Skoda surprises with its new electric SUV made in Spain

Yes, for many years the market has been searching for an affordable electric car costing 25,000 euros or less, and finally this ideal has arrived. It’s available from several brands and is made in Spain as well.
If Leapmotor introduced its 22,500 euro electric SUV, produced in Zaragoza, as Spain’s best-selling electric car a few months ago, now Skoda is doubling down on this trend with a major move: it’s bringing to market the most economical version of its latest electric model, the Epiq — also manufactured in Spain — available starting at just 22,800 euros. We’ve already tested it, and it boasts more than sufficient specifications: 135 horsepower and a range of up to 439 kilometers.

An urban electric SUV – and for more than just that – for only 18,500 €
Firstly, it’s worth noting that the Skoda Epiq stands out with a length of 4.17 meters. Although compact, it impresses with its versatility and interior space. It also features a huge trunk capacity of 475 L, which can be supplemented by an additional 25 L in the frunk.
While this SUV has been available in Spain since last July with a 155 kW / 210 HP engine and a range of up to 440 km, Skoda is now offering its cheapest model. The Epiq 40 has a power output of 99 kW / 135 HP and is always equipped with a 38.5 kWh battery, providing a range of 324 km in mixed conditions and up to 439 km in urban driving – the type of environment where this affordable electric SUV is most likely to be used.
This affordable electric SUV is far more than just an urban vehicle: with its impressive range and the performance delivered by its 135 HP engine, which enables it to reach speeds of 160 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km in 9.9 seconds, it is more than capable of hitting the road for trips or even short excursions without worrying about range. It can also comfortably carry four passengers over 1.85 meters tall, thanks to its 2.61 meter wheelbase.

Undoubtedly, the most notable feature of this electric SUV is... its price of 18,500 €. Although this amount is reached after applying commercial discounts, financing options, the Auto+ plan, and a 1,000 € discount from CAE, it remains extremely attractive due to its low cost.
Available from 18,500 € in two trims
The 18,500 € price applies to the entry-level trim of Skoda’s smallest electric SUV, called Urban. This trim already comes standard with features such as 7 airbags, 18-inch tires, a 13.1-inch central multimedia screen, light and rain sensors, climate control, rear parking sensors, keyless start, roof rails, LED headlights, ambient lighting, a 5-speaker audio system, and a multifunctional steering wheel.

In its most affordable mechanical configuration, this budget-friendly electric SUV from Skoda, manufactured in Spain, is now also available with the mid-tier Selection trim, which adds to the interior features a 7-speaker audio system, alarm, heated front seats, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, rear camera, driving mode selector, tinted rear windows, or heated steering wheel.
With this mid-tier trim, the final price—including discounts, financing, and VAT—is 20,800 euros.
