Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) is introducing the Haval H7, a 4.80-meter-long SUV, to the German market. The full hybrid version of the Haval H7 will launch in November, followed by the turbocharged gasoline version and the Haval H7 Plug-in Hybrid in December. The starting prices are 35,990 euros for the turbocharged gasoline version, 37,990 euros for the full hybrid version, and 41,990 euros for the Plug-in Hybrid version.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine produces 158 kW (215 hp), delivers a maximum torque of 380 Nm, and is paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with the all-wheel drive version capable of pulling up to 2.3 tons. The full hybrid combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, achieving a system power output of 182 kW (247 hp) and consuming 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers.

The front-wheel drive plug-in hybrid delivers a system power output of 240 kW (326 hp) and, thanks to its 33.8-kWh battery, has an all-electric range of up to 150 kilometers according to WLTP standards. The all-wheel drive version utilizes GWM’s Hi4 system, introduced in Europe for the first time, providing a maximum power output of 320 kW (435 hp) and 670 Nm of torque. The drive battery supports a fast charging capacity of 90 kW.

For off-road driving, the Haval H7 offers up to nine driving modes, a maximum ground clearance of 210 millimeters, and a wading depth of 580 millimeters. The four-wheel-drive versions of the turbocharged gasoline engine and plug-in hybrid also come equipped with an electronically controlled rear-wheel lock differential, which enhances traction.

The Chinese SUV is available in the Premium and Luxury trims and features a comprehensive standard equipment package, ample interior space, and practical outdoor accessories, according to the manufacturer. Its design is inspired by classic SUVs. The standard warranty includes seven years of coverage on the vehicle up to 150,000 kilometers, as well as eight years of coverage on the high-voltage battery up to 160,000 kilometers.
