World Tour: Elektrotrucker’s New Undertaking

There must be a reason why, in recent months, a leader in charging technology like Alpitronic has been paying so much attention to heavy transport. Trucks and buses often travel the same routes every day. Having competitive charging options—not only in terms of price and speed but also, and most importantly, at the right locations and times—can lead to successful operations. That’s why the company from Bolzano welcomed Tobias’s venture on LinkedIn with a supportive post, along with a series of photos including one with Alpitronic’s CEO, Philipp Senoner. It was explained that “over the course of about a year of travel, Tobias will journey from Hannover through China to Australia, then via San Francisco, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil back to Europe.”

Naturally, the number and timing of refueling stops are crucial to the success of this endeavor: “With only 80 planned charging stops along the entire route, this journey demonstrates how far electric truck transportation has already come,” writes Alpitronic. “We are proud to support this adventure with a dedicated HYC50. Instead of staying in its usual fixed position, the charger travels with the truck. Installed behind the cab, it provides a reliable DC charging option on the road wherever adequate charging infrastructure is unavailable. Everything is ready; now the road awaits him. We wish Tobias every success on his round-the-world journey and during all 80 charging stops.”
