Geely is growing in Poland and preparing more launches this fall.

In short:

Geely ends its first year in Poland with a strong position in the electric SUV segment

The Chinese giant is expanding its dealer network and announcing more new models

In the fall, the EM-i – a D-segment SUV – and the Geely E2 compact electric city car will be launched

As of June, the company has sold nearly 475,000 vehicles outside China, representing a 158% year-on-year increase

Geely with ambitious goals

One year after entering the Polish market, Geely can claim a successful debut. The brand, whose development in Poland is led by Jameel Motors, has built recognition, a network of 20 dealerships, and a portfolio of two models in just twelve months. This year, additional models such as the Monjaro EM-i and the urban electric vehicle E2 will join them. Geely emphasizes its consistent approach of “combining product expansion with the development of a dealer network, customer-focused initiatives, and distinctive communication.”

E5 – an electric debut with strong results

Recall that the first model introduced for sale in Poland was the electric SUV E5, which made its debut last July. The vehicle quickly gained popularity, and December 2025 confirmed its position as the leader in sales “among Chinese brand electric SUVs in the C segment.” The model stands out, among other things, with a range of up to 430 km (according to WLTP), the ability to charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.9 seconds — according to Geely’s website.

Automotive World notes that the E5 has won Red Dot awards, MUSE Design Award, IDA Design Award, and A’ Design Award, and its batteries have passed a “pinprick test without fire or explosion,” which the Chinese emphasize as proof of high safety standards.

In an interview with Automotive World, Karol Kostrzewa, General Manager of Geely Poland, said, “We want to attract drivers with innovative technologies and modern design. We believe everyone deserves an exceptional mobility experience.”

Starray EM-i – a plug-in hybrid with real range

The other model introduced to the market was the Starray EM‑i – a plug-in hybrid with a total range of up to 943 km. Following a nationwide road tour in March 2026, the model quickly gained popularity and by July 2026 became “the second most registered PHEV vehicle in Poland.”

Geely established a network of 20 dealerships in major cities within a year, from Warsaw to Szczecin and Białystok. The brand also emphasizes that it collaborates with “experienced partners holding leading positions in local markets,” and expanding the network remains a key component of its strategy.

Upcoming Geely launches: Monjaro EM‑i and E2

In the fall, Geely will unveil the new generation of the Monjaro EM-i, a spacious D-segment SUV with PHEV power and 4×4 drive, designed specifically for Europe. The vehicle will make its debut at the Paris auto show and will be equipped with features such as adaptive suspension, massage and ventilation seats, as well as advanced driving assistance systems.

The second debut will be the Geely E2 – a compact urban electric car that aims to stand out with its spaciousness, functionality, and attractive price. The brand claims that thanks to low monthly payment options, the E2 will be “one of the best-value new cars in Poland.”

"Europe has long served as a hub for innovation and design for Geely Auto. Our advanced New Energy Vehicle (NEV) technology, along with a deep understanding of local market dynamics, gives us a significant advantage as we expand into the Polish market," said Alex Nan, Vice President of Geely Auto Group and CEO of Geely Auto International, in an interview with Automotive World.

Global context: record results and NEV expansion

The first half of 2026 was a turning point for Geely Auto Group. The company sold 474,228 vehicles outside China – a 158% year-on-year increase – with June setting a historic record: over 100,000 vehicles exported in one month. As much as 59% of exports were electric and hybrid vehicles, whose sales grew by 585%

Geely entered seven key European markets within 45 days, including Germany, France, and Spain. The E5 and Starray EM-i models are already available in over 20 European countries. In 2025, the brand entered 13 new markets, including Poland, and its global network now spans 88 countries with over 1,200 sales outlets.

Competitors in the BEV segment – market context

In the segment of electric C-class SUVs, where the Geely E5 has taken the lead among Chinese brands, its main competitors are other manufacturers from China who are also aggressively expanding their BEV offerings in Europe. Though not only Chinese brands, as the C-SUV segment in the electric vehicle market is currently one of the most competitive in the Polish market.

The Geely E5 directly competes with models such as the BYD Atto 3, the main Chinese rival based on Blade battery technology and known for its high fleet adoption rate; the Volvo EX30, a sibling model developed by the same company representing the premium BEV segment, which quickly became one of the most popular electric cars in Poland; the Kia Niro EV / Hyundai Kona Electric, Korean options with a solid reputation for excellent energy efficiency; and the Volkswagen ID.4 / Cupra Tavascan, which are “European classics” in this segment based on the MEB platform and serve as a benchmark for business customers.

An important factor is also the company’s investment in satellite technologies. According to reports, from 2022 to 2025, Geely has launched 64 satellites, creating an “integrated space-land mobility ecosystem.” Satellite connectivity has already been implemented in the Geely Xingyao 8, Geely E8, Lynk & Co 900, as well as Zeekr 001 FR and 009 Grand models, but so far only in China.
