Geely E2. How much does China’s best-selling electric car cost in Portugal?

The Geely E2, which costs less than 9,000 euros in China, has just arrived in Portugal and already has a fixed price: 21,900 euros.

In China it is called the Geely Xingyuan and costs less than 9,000 euros, a price so low that it made it the best-selling electric vehicle in the country. In Portugal, the same model is called the Geely E2 and already has an official price: 21,900 euros. This is almost double the Chinese price, but it remains one of the most affordable electric vehicles available on the domestic market.

The national range of the Geely E2 is organized into three versions (PRO, MAX, and ULTRA), and it is available with two battery options, both using LFP chemistry (lithium iron phosphate).

Range of up to 345 km

The base version, named PRO, is available with a 35.35 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 252 km in combined WLTP cycle. The MAX and ULTRA variants use a 47.14 kWh battery, which increases the range to 345 km in combined WLTP cycle.

All three variants are equipped with a rear electric motor that delivers 60 kW (80 hp) in the base version and 85 kW (116 hp) in the higher-end models. The maximum torque across the range is 150 Nm.

Regarding charging, the Geely E2 takes 26 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% on direct current (DC). On alternating current (AC), the maximum power is limited to 6.6 kW.

Enough space for everything?

Despite its 4.13-meter length, the Geely E2 offers a trunk with a capacity of up to 375 liters, plus a frunk (front trunk) with 70 liters.

Inside, there’s a 14.6″ central screen along with an 8.8″ instrument panel. The entire range is equipped with the FLYME Auto infotainment system, seven airbags, and 24 ADAS systems.

The list of driving assistance systems (ADAS) includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, and monitoring of the driver and passengers.

Standard features also include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, 4G network, online navigation, digital DAB radio, a GEELY app store, and remote over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The Geely E2 is available in Portugal starting at 21,900 euros for the PRO version with a 35 kWh battery. The price includes 5 years of scheduled maintenance (or 75,000 km) and 8 years of warranty (or 200,000 km) for the vehicle and the drive battery.
