The Geely E2 will arrive in Germany starting at 19,990 euros.

Geely is introducing its second all-electric model, the E2, to the German market. The compact electric vehicle is now available for non-binding reservations at a minimum price of 19,990 euros. Geely offers two battery sizes, providing up to 345 kilometers of WLTP range. The manufacturer is complementing the launch with a charging credit from EnBW worth 621 euros.

Following the first presentation of the E2 in July, Chinese manufacturer Geely has now opened the reservation phase. Delivery of reserved vehicles is scheduled for the end of September. In addition to the purchase price starting at 19,990 euros, Geely is also promoting the E2 with a leasing option starting at 99 euros per month.

To clarify briefly: In China, the Geely E2 is sold as the Geely Galaxy Xingyuan and was once the best-selling car. The model is also available in Brazil, where it is called Geely EX2 and is produced at a Renault factory. Taking advantage of this global presence, Geely refers to it on its website as the “most successful electric city car in the world.”

In Germany, the Geely E2 is offered in three trims. The Pro version serves as the entry level at 19,990 euros, followed by the Max at 23,990 euros and the Ultra at 26,990 euros. The base version also differs technically from the two higher-end variants.

The Geely E2 Pro is equipped with a 35.35 kWh LFP battery designed to provide energy for 252 kilometers according to WLTP standards. The permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear axle delivers 60 kW of power and 150 Nm of torque. Geely reports a WLTP fuel consumption of 15.9 kWh per 100 kilometers. The Max and Ultra versions come with a 47.14 kWh battery as well as a rear motor that also produces 150 Nm of torque but offers 85 kW of power. Geely claims a WLTP range of 345 kilometers for these versions with a standard fuel consumption of 15.5 kWh per 100 kilometers.

The top speed is limited to 130 km/h across all variants. The Pro model takes 14.2 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h, while the two more powerful models achieve this in 11.5 seconds. The electric drive system is implemented as a so-called 11-in-1 unit, in which Geely integrates elements such as the motor, power electronics, reduction gearbox, onboard charger, and thermal management system.

Up to 80 kW DC charging capacity

There are also differences in fast charging: the smaller battery can be charged with up to 60 kW of direct current, while Max and Ultra models support up to 80 kW. For the typical charge from 30% to 80%, Geely states 19 minutes regardless of the variant, and it claims 26 minutes for a charge from 10% to 80%. The manufacturer does not provide figures for the maximum AC charging power. For a charge from 10% to 100%, it indicates 5.3 hours for the smaller battery and 7.1 hours for the larger battery using alternating current.

Of interest for everyday use is the standard V2L function (Vehicle-to-Load). This allows energy from the high-voltage battery to be supplied to external electrical devices. Additionally, the E2 supports programmable charging via app and battery preconditioning.

The technical foundation is Geely’s Global Smart New Energy Architecture, or GEA for short. The manufacturer uses a McPherson suspension at the front and a multi-link axle at the back. Geely also highlights a chassis design specifically tailored for Europe. In addition to Eco, Comfort, and Sport modes, there is a dedicated snow driving mode.

Geely E2 features compact dimensions

With a length of 4,135 millimeters, a width of 1,805 millimeters, and a height of 1,580 millimeters, the Geely E2 remains compact. The wheelbase is 2,645 millimeters, and the turning radius is 9.9 meters. The interior accommodates five seats. Geely reports that the second row still offers 890 millimeters of legroom.

The trunk has a capacity of 375 liters, which can be expanded to up to 1,320 liters by folding down the rear seats. In addition, there is a 70-liter frunk area under the hood and another 28-liter storage space in the floor of the rear compartment.

In the cockpit, Geely uses its Flyme Auto infotainment system featuring a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch instrument display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available, along with online navigation, 4G connectivity, over-the-air updates, and vehicle access via app. Depending on the trim level, additional features include inductive smartphone charging, a six-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and an electric rear hatch.

In terms of safety, the manufacturer lists seven airbags along with features such as driver monitoring, passenger detection, and child presence detection. However, the Geely E2 has not yet undergone an Euro-NCAP test. The manufacturer only states that the model was developed with the goal of meeting the requirements for a five-star rating. The vehicle warranty covers eight years or 200,000 kilometers.

Geely partners with EnBW for market launch

Geely ties the launch in Germany to a charging offer from its partner EnBW. During the reservation phase, buyers receive an EnBW charging credit voucher worth 621 euros. This amount is not chosen arbitrarily: Geely assumes an annual mileage of 10,000 km, a fuel consumption of 15.9 kWh/100 km, and an electricity price of 39 cents/kWh. This results in approximately 1,590 kWh of electricity use, or 621 euros in charging costs. Therefore, Geely promotes this offer as an opportunity to charge “for up to a year free of charge.” However, it is not a fixed charging rate—how long the credit actually lasts depends on mileage, consumption, and current charging costs.

With the E2, Geely expands its currently limited portfolio in Germany downward. According to InsideEVs, the model sold 465,775 units in China in 2025. We are eager to see demand for it in Germany.
