In the first half of 2026, GAC Commercial Vehicle increased its sales by 205 percent compared to the same period last year. Leveraging its business in alternative-powered commercial vehicles in the Chinese market, the company aims to accelerate its international expansion. To this end, it utilizes GAC Group’s sales and service network in 110 countries and regions, along with its international resources.

The long-standing joint venture GAC Hino also provides a foundation for this effort. GAC Commercial Vehicle has nearly two decades of experience in the development and manufacturing of commercial vehicles as well as in quality management, while also benefiting from GAC Group’s supply chain.

"Bringing vehicles to international markets is just the beginning for us. The next step is to expand our ecosystem globally and create new values together," said Jimmy Du, COO of GAC Commercial Vehicle. "To achieve this, we leverage the international resources of the GAC Group and collaborate with partners around the world. In this way, we bring not only our vehicle technologies but also our network of partners to additional markets, driving the commercial vehicle industry forward together toward a more efficient, intelligent, and sustainable future."

The international expansion also includes the new MONTX brand for light commercial vehicles. It encompasses the concept vehicles P10 and V10, as well as the All-Domain Adaptive Architecture, which enables different drive types, vehicle designs, and application areas to be implemented on a common architecture. MONTX is tailored to meet the diverse needs and requirements of international customers across various applications.

In addition, MONTX Makers launches a global co-creation initiative that allows users to contribute their requirements at an early stage in the design and development of future products. GAC Commercial Vehicle aims to further connect its open ecosystem of users and partners worldwide through this initiative. According to Jimmy Du, the next step is to “expand our ecosystem globally and create new value together.”

The SMILODON Pro pickup demonstrates concrete international presence. The standard model is already available in Central and South America as well as the Middle East, with plans to be offered in around 30 countries by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, GAC Commercial Vehicle is working with Pony.ai and Aulton on solutions for Level 4 autonomous driving and battery swapping in heavy commercial vehicles.
