The Forthing 5 BEV is now available for ordering in Germany. The compact SUV is offered by importer IndiMO, which specializes in Chinese models. The Forthing 5 costs 40,995 euros here, including a three-year mobility warranty.

IndiMO, an importer specializing in vehicle imports from China, has expanded its catalog with the Forthing 5 BEV, which is available starting at 40,995 euros. Forthing is a brand of the Chinese conglomerate Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor and has been present in the German import market since 2023. The new compact SUV 5 BEV represents the second version of this electric model, which was previously sold as the 5 EV before the generation change. This electric vehicle made its market debut in the fall of 2026.
New Technology and More Power in the Forthing 5 BEV
The new generation of the Forthing 5 also features the latest technology. The most notable technical advancement relates to the balance between battery size and range. While the older EV model used a relatively heavy 86 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a WLTP range of 371 kilometers, it is now equipped with a smaller 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that allows the electric SUV to travel up to 501 kilometers.
In addition, the new platform of the Forthing 5 now features an 800-volt architecture. This reduces charging time from 45 minutes to 18 minutes for 20% to 80% charge. The maximum charging capacity is not specified in the German specifications. In the Chinese market, the model is sold as the Forthing Friday and is said to have a charging capacity of 160 kW.
The AC charging times and charging limits can be programmed, allowing the liquid-cooled and liquid-heated traction battery to be pre-conditioned accordingly.
The manufacturer has also improved the engine performance: the power of the electric motor at the front axle increases from 150 kW to 200 kW, while the maximum torque rises slightly to 360 Nm. The top speed is electronically limited at 180 km/h. Regeneration is available in three intensity levels.

Well-equipped interior
Inside this 4.55 meters long, 1.86 meters wide, and 1.68 meters high compact SUV, the manufacturer moves toward a cockpit with minimal switches. The previous layout of two connected 10.25-inch screens is replaced by a central, standalone 15.6-inch touchscreen through which almost all vehicle functions and climate settings can be controlled. An electrically operated panoramic roof with sunshade is standard, as are 50-watt charging ports and seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the leather front seats. The trunk has a capacity of 410 to 1420 liters, and there is a 220-volt outlet aboard.
The safety systems include, in addition to the functions required by law, an adaptive cruise control, a lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, a rear cross-traffic alert, a rear collision warning, and a 360-degree camera system.
