Ford Pro unveils additional Transit City body variants
At the IAA Transportation in Hanover, Ford Pro is showcasing the full range of body styles for the new Transit City, the latest and fully electric member of the Transit family. Additionally, Ford Pro is presenting the large E-Transit with a larger battery and increased range.

Two products lie at the heart of Ford Pro’s showcase at the IAA Transportation in Hanover (Hall 13 / C90): the recently introduced Transit City for urban delivery operations, and a new battery variant for the larger E-Transit. With these , the company is responding to increased demand from commercial customers for efficiency and range.
Transit City now available with flatbed and box body
Following its digital premiere in March, the all-electric Transit City is now making its public debut at the trade show – with a starting price of €35,990, it is also being showcased in several new body variants. Previously known primarily as a panel van, Ford Pro is now presenting the model for the first time in its full body style range. In addition to the panel van in two lengths and heights (L1H1 and L2H2), this includes a box body and a flatbed. Ford Pro cites bakeries, landscape gardeners and delivery services as target groups for the Transit City.
Particular emphasis is placed on its suitability as a chassis for custom conversions in the 1-tonne payload segment. With box body and flatbed options, corresponding builds can be ordered directly through the one-stop-shop offering at Transit Centres. For more specialised requirements, the company also collaborates with certified body manufacturers.
E-Transit now available with 96 kWh battery
In addition to the light commercial vehicle, Ford Pro is also focusing on the 2-tonne segment and equipping the E-Transit with a new 96-kWh battery. This increased storage capacity enables a range of up to 432 kilometres according to the WLTP procedure. Compared to the standard 68 kWh variant, this represents a range increase of 115 kilometres.
The new E-Transit variant supports DC fast charging at up to 180 kW. This allows the range to be increased by up to 120 kilometres in ten minutes, while the charging process from 10 to 80 per cent is said to be completed within 28 minutes. The model is now available to order as a panel van and as a double cab.
With these product premieres, Ford Pro aims to underline its claim as a market leader in electrified commercial vehicles. The four variants of the new all-electric Transit City, along with the larger battery for the E-Transit, are designed to help commercial customers operate their fleets economically and without emission-related compromises in daily use.
Ford Pro introduces uptime services for fleet operators
To reduce operating costs, Ford Pro is also introducing the data-based subscription services Ford Uptime Services and Ford Uptime Insights for fleet operators across Germany. Following a successful pilot project with around 11,000 connected vehicles, the new software tools analyse vehicle data to detect technical issues at an early stage and prevent downtime. Agents work with Ford’s nationwide dealer network to pre-order required spare parts and coordinate workshop appointments.
“For our commercial customers, every productive kilometre counts,” said Wilhelm Buchmüller, Ford Pro Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “With Ford Uptime Services and Ford Uptime Insights, we are rolling out solutions nationwide that make maintenance needs visible earlier and help fleet operators reduce downtime.”
