Dutch fast charging station operator Fastned generated revenue of 51.3 million euros in the third quarter of 2026 and continued to expand its European fast charging network. Its gross profit increased by 44 percent to 37 million euros compared to the previous year. On a comparable basis, revenue reached 46.3 million euros, representing a 47 percent increase from the same period last year. The reported revenue includes 5.1 million euros in Dutch E-Credits from the first quarter, which were transferred in the third quarter.
Total sales increased by 43 percent, while the annualized average delivery volume per station rose to 596 MWh. The annualized sales per station reached 395,000 euros since the start of the year, nearing the upper end of the projected range of 350,000 to 400,000 euros for 2026.
In terms of network expansion, Fastned signed agreements for 26 new locations in the third quarter and commissioned 17 stations in Europe. Another 65 stations are under construction, almost double the number from the previous year. The company remains committed to its annual target of 70 to 100 new stations and aims to operate a total of 476 to 506 locations by the end of 2026. Its forecast of an operating EBITDA margin of around 45 percent also stands unchanged.
In Germany, Fastned has so far built 17 highway locations as part of its Deutschlandnetz network and is aiming for a total of 70 stations. Tenders at the highway and regional levels enable the company to access government subsidies as well as additional locations and search areas.
The offerings for private customers, businesses, and fleets have also been expanded. In September, Fastned established a partnership with the Dutch mobility association ANWB, through which it promotes itself to more than 600,000 users of the ANWB Charge Card. Subscribers receive a 10 percent discount when charging at Fastned stations across Europe. Additionally, the collaboration includes information services related to electric mobility.
To fund network expansion, Fastned launched the third bond issuance of 2026 under its retail bond program in the third quarter, with the subscription deadline set for October 30. Meanwhile, the company reached a milestone in its employee stock option plan introduced in 2019. After annual revenue exceeded 100 million euros in 2025 and its market capitalization rose to over 700 million euros in the third quarter, options equivalent to 1 percent of all outstanding shares were made available for distribution to employees.
"Looking at the whole of Europe shows a clear trend toward electric mobility, and here in Germany we are keeping up," said Linda Boll, head of Germany. "Tender processes also make this possible by giving us fair access to attractive locations, both on highways and in some of the country’s most densely populated areas. With 17 stations opened as part of the Germany network on German highways, we have reached an important milestone, and we are continuing to build so that we will soon have 70 stations in operation."
Fastned CEO Michiel Langezaal emphasized the company’s growth and the increasing speed at which it is expanding its stations. The company remains focused, according to him, on rising charging revenues, improved station performance, and the planned expansion of its European network.
