EXPO of New Mobility
The EXPO Congress of New Mobility is increasingly becoming a venue for European premieres from year to year, and this year’s edition confirms that trend. At the exhibition in Katowice, models designed to promote electric mobility and bring electric drive systems to the lowest, most mass-market segments of the market will be on display for the first time in Poland – Volkswagen ID. Polo, Cupra Raval, as well as Škoda Epiq and Peaq.
Alongside them, models such as the Avatr 12 Royal Edition, the returning urban electric vehicle Renault Twingo, Suzuki eVitara, Mazda CX-6e, the refreshed Audi Q4 e-tron, and the Volkswagen e-Transporter designed specifically for city delivery fleets will also be on display. Renault will additionally showcase V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology on the Renault 4 and Renault 5 models – a feature that allows external devices, from power tools to camping equipment, to be powered by the car’s battery, turning it into a mobile power source.
From EXPO to the roads
Many of these premieres won’t have to be watched from behind a barrier. Congress attendees will be able to test drive selected vehicles. Among those available will be the Audi Q4 e-tron, Cupra Tavascan, Škoda Epiq, Mazda 6e, Mazda CX-60e, as well as vehicles from Melex. This is one of the elements of EXPO that best demonstrates that electrification is no longer just a topic of discussion but has become a daily, real experience for drivers.
Heavy transport makes its move
A distinct focus of this year’s event is heavy transport and hydrogen technologies. In Katowice, the ENNOVUM H680 will make its debut – Poland’s first hydrogen truck, a zero-emission 4×2 tractor developed as part of the HySPARK project.
The vehicle is powered by an electric motor fueled by a fuel cell module supplied by Toyota, offering a range of around 600 kilometers on a single hydrogen fill at 700 bar pressure. Importantly for practical transportation, it has full road approval along with ADR certification.
The heavy transport segment will be complemented by the launch of a new map showing eHDV charging hubs, as well as – a symbolic event – the signing of the first subsidy agreement for an electric tractor under a support program run by NFOŚiGW.
At sea and in the air
Transport is not the only area that will be featured at the Congress of New Mobility. At the EXPO, Poland’s first electric aircraft, which has already taken to the skies, will be on display, along with a glider and unmanned aerial vehicles. Marine transportation will be represented by an electric boat built by Poznan University of Technology, while the most extreme conditions will be conquered by MORB 1.0, an electric off-road vehicle developed under a program funded by NCBiR in collaboration with Poznan University of Technology and Ennovation Technology.
The last ten vehicles are designed for use in forestry, rescue services, border control, and the energy sector, among others. It has a range of about 320 km (WLTP) along with impressive off-road capabilities (ground clearance of up to 52 cm, approach angle of 73°), proving that electric drive performs well in applications where both environmental protection and uncompromising functionality are essential.
Record-breaking range and charging speed
There will be ample infrastructure and impressive numbers. The exhibition will feature charging stations capable of delivering up to 700 kW using the CCS connector, as well as an electric crane. Meanwhile, Volkswagen Financial Services will address the question “Can a mass-produced electric vehicle break the Guinness World Record by traveling over 1,205 km on a single charge?” at a specially organized conference. This is not a random question, as Miko Marczyk and Volkswagen Financial Services have decided to test it!
The practical aspect of safety will be ensured by the Technical Inspection Authority, which will conduct demonstrations of vehicle charging station testing at its own booth. These daily demonstrations will take place at 12:00 and 15:00, allowing both business visitors and individual users to watch.
Reports Pointing to the Future
The substantive content of the Congress will be enhanced by the presentation of the Kompas 2035 strategy — a plan to transform Poland’s automotive industry, aiming to build a competitive, modern, and resilient economy based on innovation, battery technologies, software, and future mobility, thereby investing in people, skills, infrastructure, and Poland’s economic security. A set of industry reports will also be unveiled during the event, including “Map of Potential for Electrifying Corporate Fleets in Poland” and “Fleet 2035.”

The New Mobility Congress will last three days (September 23-25) and, as usual, will bring together vehicle and infrastructure manufacturers, charging operators, technology companies, fleets, transportation enterprises, the energy sector, and institutions funding new mobility solutions. A week before it starts, one thing is certain: in Katowice, attendees will be able to see, touch, and test the latest innovations in European and global electric mobility.
