Exobot – ELECTRIC cars created by Saudi Arabia. 7 models in the next 5 years

Saudi Arabia, a country dependent on oil, continues to invest in electric vehicles. The national investment fund and members of the royal family own nearly 62 percent of Lucid Group, and now the government is launching its own electric vehicle project. Vehicles under the Exobot brand will be produced at the CEER Manufacturing Complex, “the largest automobile factory in the Middle East.”

Exobot. Every country can have its own electric vehicle.

During the CEER presentation, two models were shown: a sporty one and a crossover-like model. Plans are to start selling five more models over the next five years, bringing the total to seven. The president of CEER is James DeLuca, former president of Vinfast and vice president of manufacturing at General Motors. CEER’s factory was built at record speed; the winner of the construction bid was announced in March 2024, and now, in September 2026, the facility appears to be ready and well-equipped. The total cost of getting it operational was said to be $1.3 billion, equivalent to 4.9 billion zlotys (source).

The manufacturer unveiled renderings of two models: the Exobot Sedan and the Exobot SUV. The sedan is available in a “Saudi Arabia-inspired” White Musk color, but honestly, we probably don’t want to think about what exact shade of white musk gland secretions have... The sedan promises 670 NEDC miles of range, while the SUV offers 560 NEDC miles. It’s easy to estimate that this translates to around 450 and 376 kilometers in real-world urban or urban-suburban driving conditions, which is roughly equivalent to 526 and 440 WLTP units.

The charging to 80 percent is said to take 30 minutes, which suggests mid-tier cell chemistry or may reflect the poor infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, given that the Exobot batteries have a capacity of 112 kWh. This could ultimately be due to limited cooling systems, with the cars being offered first in the Middle East. There’s not much point in worrying too much about the other technical specifications—early Vinfast models received many negative reviews regarding their suspension and handling. From a Polish perspective, the most interesting aspect is that even oil giants are investing in electric vehicles and that an electric vehicle factory can be built from scratch in 2.5 years.
