Chinese manufacturers are showing that their international growth no longer relies solely on electric cars. Plug-in hybrids are gaining increasing prominence, and Lynk & Co has just reached an important milestone with one of its most representative models, the 08 EM-P.
The company, part of the Geely Group, announced that its plug-in hybrid SUV has sold over 200,000 units worldwide. This figure was achieved as the Lynk & Co 08 continues to expand its international presence, now available in more than 30 markets, including several European countries.

Over 200,000 units and presence in more than 30 markets
The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P first entered the Chinese market in September 2023 and has since become one of the core models in the company’s lineup. Its international expansion followed later, with the SUV already reaching markets in Europe, Asia, and other regions.
According to data released by the brand itself, cumulative global deliveries have now exceeded 200,000 units. Lynk & Co also notes that the model is available in more than 30 international markets, an expansion particularly significant for a company that until recently focused much of its operations in China.
Europe is a key part of this strategy. The 08 was the first plug-in hybrid that Lynk & Co launched on the continent, following its initial operations there with the Lynk & Co 01. Spain is one of the markets where it can be purchased, along with countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

The model’s growth comes at a time of significant changes for Lynk & Co.’s European structure. Starting in January 2027, Volvo will take over exclusive distribution of its vehicles in Europe and make its sales and after-sales network available to the brand. Lynk & Co will, however, retain its own identity, products, and customer relationships.

Its system combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined power of 345 horsepower and 615 Nm of peak torque. Lynk & Co claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds, with a total range exceeding 1,000 km when using both the battery and fuel tank.

Another uncommon feature among plug-in hybrids is their charging power. The 08 supports up to 85 kW of DC charging, allowing it to go from 10% to 80% battery charge in approximately 33 minutes. It also has AC charging at 11 kW. In Spain, the Lynk & Co 08 is currently priced at 52,995 euros for the Core trim level, while the More version costs 56,995 euros before any possible discounts or subsidies.
