Kia has refreshed one of its most distinctive models in the compact segment. The XCeed retains that hybrid approach between a sedan and crossover, but now features a more modern design, advanced technology options, and a powertrain lineup where both gasoline engines and microhybrid versions remain prominent.
The starting price is 19,860 euros, though that figure applies to the basic gasoline version with a manual transmission. Those seeking the ECO label must choose the 1.0 T-GDi MHEV engine with 115 horsepower, which includes a 48-volt electric system and does not require plugging in.
A trunk capacity of up to 426 liters
The vehicle also features a driving position that is higher than that of a regular Ceed, but it does not reach the size or height of a traditional SUV. This combination has been one of the key differentiators of the XCeed since its launch.
The interior is one of the areas where the updates are most noticeable. Kia has redesigned the dashboard and equipped it with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster along with a central navigation screen of the same size, creating a much more modern look compared to the previous model.
It may also feature options such as Digital Key 2.0, which allows unlocking, closing, and starting the vehicle using a compatible device, as well as connected services and wireless charging for mobile phones.
Kia has also focused on comfort, making changes to the rear suspension and implementing improvements to reduce noise and vibration. The Normal and Sport driving modes have been recalibrated to provide more distinct responses depending on the driving style.
The price is one of the main selling points of this model. The XCeed starts at 19,860 euros for its gasoline version with 115 HP and a manual transmission, while the ECO-rated hybrid variant begins at 20,860 euros according to the offer published in Spain. Higher up the range are the automatic versions and engines with 150 and 180 HP, which gradually increase the price but also enhance performance and equipment levels.
With this update, Kia aims to keep the XCeed as an option for those seeking something more practical and premium than a conventional compact car, without wanting to move up to a larger SUV or needing a plug-in vehicle.

The factory in Žilina, Slovakia, continues to be a vital part of Kia’s industrial strategy in Europe. From these facilities, the brand produces a significant portion of the models destined for the European market and maintains a crucial production base to shorten distances, better tailor offerings, and respond more quickly to demand on the continent.
The development of the updated Kia XCeed has also focused heavily on European needs. Teams from Korea and Hyundai Motor Group’s European Technical Center have been involved in the project, with much of the engineering testing conducted in countries such as Spain and Sweden, along with other European markets.
