This ID. Polo has been turned into a commercial model without losing the rear seats.

Converting a utility vehicle into a commercial model isn’t exactly new. But doing so without sacrificing the rear seats is another matter.
Once common, commercial vehicles derived from utility cars are becoming increasingly rare, but they’re slowly making a comeback. Following Volvo’s EX30, Volkswagen has also decided to adapt one of its electric vehicles for commercial use, specifically the brand-new ID. Polo.
It’s called the ID. Polo toCargo, and the conversion features a unique detail: the rear seats remain in place. Developed by Volkswagen’s Dutch importer, this solution involves installing a flat platform over the rear seats, which are then folded down and hidden beneath that floor.
As a result, the ID. Polo now offers 1.33 meters in length and 1 meter in width in the cargo area, with a maximum capacity of 1200 liters. There’s also an additional compartment under the floor.

The conversion is available with 37 and 52 kWh batteries. The former can have 85 kW (116 hp) or 99 kW (135 hp), while the latter reaches 155 kW (211 hp). The maximum ranges are 329 and 454 km respectively, with fast charging reaching 105 kW.
For now, it’s still a prototype, but the ID. Polo worker model has already been promised for the Netherlands, where the transformation was developed. It remains to be seen if this concept will cross borders, as Volkswagen still doesn’t have an ID. Caddy yet.
