The Epicland X9 will launch on September 24. Dongfeng and Huawei are targeting the Aito M9 and Li L9.
Epicland, a new brand developed jointly by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei, will unveil its first model on September 24, 2026. It is a large 6-seater SUV named X9, with pre-orders starting at 299,800 yuan, which is approximately 171 thousand złoty.
On paper, this appears to be another move by China in the segment of large family EREV vehicles. However, there’s an additional factor here: a full suite of Huawei technologies, from the cockpit to ADAS features.
Over 20 thousand orders per day and a price starting at 299,800 yuan
The Epicland X9 began pre-sales on August 18 in three versions, priced from 299,800 to 379,800 yuan. Based on the exchange rate cited, this translates to roughly 171-217 thousand złoty.
The brand claims it received over 16,000 orders in 12 hours, with the figure exceeding 20,000 after 24 hours. This is impressive, but let’s remember we’re talking about a Chinese pre-order campaign with bonuses and a small deposit, so the real test will come after contracts are finalized.
The X9 is positioned as a second-generation “family flagship.” Its competitors are clearly identified: the Aito M9 and Li Auto Li L9, which are large, well-equipped vehicles designed for Chinese families wanting everything at once.
Incentives for pre-orderers remain valid until September 24. Customers receive a lifetime warranty on the vehicle as well as on the battery, engine, and control electronics, while the 2,000 yuan deposit is counted as if it were 5,000 yuan at the time of purchase. There’s also priority in production and delivery.
5.3 meters long, EREV, and full Huawei suite
The Epicland X9 is 5,301 mm long, 2,015 mm wide, and 1,820 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm. It’s truly a large vehicle. Even the manufacturer highlights the width of the third-row seats at 1,101 mm. So the third row isn’t just for show.
The powertrain is EREV, meaning electric with a range extender. The car has a battery with a capacity of 74 kWh, an all-electric range of up to 465 km, and a total range of over 1,500 km. As usual, these are declared values, and in reality they will depend on the testing cycle and driving style.
Standard across all versions is the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit along with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 driving assistance system. In terms of hardware, the manufacturer promises a new Huawei LiDAR with dual optical paths and 3 precise semiconductor LiDARS. It sounds impressive, though the effectiveness of such systems is still tested on roads, not just in slideshows.
The X9 also uses Huawei’s Qiankun Chitu platform, features a dual-chamber pneumatic suspension, and a rear axle with 14 degrees of steering in either direction. This results in a turning radius of 5.3 meters, which is very small for a car of this size.
Epicland plans to adopt a “1+N” sales model and establish a network of over 300 showrooms in 79 cities. One day before the X9’s launch on September 23, Aistaland, another brand developed by Huawei in partnership with GAC, will also unveil its own model. Huawei is no longer just a supplier of car screens; it’s building an entire mini-empire of brands.
