EnBW is expanding its service offerings for electric vehicle owners with an artificial intelligence charging assistant. This AI provides telephone support to customers when questions or problems arise during charging. The charging assistant complements EnBW’s existing technical telephone support.

The AI charging assistant is designed to assist customers directly while charging. According to EnBW, it can help identify charging stations and points clearly, start a charging session, or find alternative nearby charging locations. It also offers support when using a charging card or app.

Through targeted questions, the charging assistance is designed to quickly provide a solution to the specific problem in most cases. It is said that about two-thirds of inquiries are resolved directly during the conversation with the charging assistance. This allows the support teams to focus more on more complex issues.

The charging assistance is already available and currently offered in German and English. It precedes technical support and can be reached around the clock via EnBW’s service number, which is displayed on all EnBW charging stations.

Lars Jacobs, EnBW’s Chief Commercial Officer for E-Mobility, explains: “This way they receive immediate support and, in many cases, a direct solution right away.” In the future, the service is set to be expanded with additional support features related to charging. EnBW views the AI charging assistant as another element to enhance service quality within its “HyperNetz”.
