World’s best-selling electric vehicle has arrived in Portugal

The Geely E2 is the best-selling electric car in the world, and you can now get to know it and test drive it at the Hybrid and Electric Car Show in Porto.

The name Geely is still relatively unknown to many Portuguese, but that might change soon. The Chinese brand has introduced the new E2, a 100% electric utility vehicle aimed at competing with the big players in this segment.

Don’t be fooled, however, if you think it’s just another Chinese electric car entering the domestic market. On the contrary, the new Geely E2 is the best-selling electric car in the world and in its home market, where it sells over 55,000 units per month.

The model is already available in Portugal, with prices starting at 21,900 euros. You can meet it in person at the Hybrid and Electric Car Show (SAHE), held at Alfândega do Porto from October 16 to 18.

Up to 345 km of range

The new Geely E2 arrives in Portugal with three trim levels, two battery options, and two power output levels.

The entry model is the E2 PRO, which features a 35.35 kWh battery paired with an electric motor producing 60 kW (80 hp), offering a range of over 250 km between charges.

The higher trim levels — MAX and ULTRA — come equipped with a larger battery (47.14 kWh) and greater range (up to 345 km), along with a more powerful motor delivering 85 kW (116 hp). The maximum torque remains the same across all versions: 150 Nm.

The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 11.5 seconds for the more powerful versions, compared to 14.2 seconds for the less powerful version.

In terms of charging, the Chinese electric SUV is compatible with power outputs of up to 60 kW and 80 kW depending on the version, requiring only 26 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% on direct current (DC).
