Electra charging on highways, with new charging stations on A4 and A10. And faster charging times ever.

Electra charging on highways: Milan-Turin and Genoa-Ventimiglia

The French company has won 3 tenders to build its first highway charging stations in Piedmont, on the A4 Milan-Turin route, and in Liguria on the A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia road. The infrastructure, to be completed by the first half of 2027, will include a total of 12 charging points, each with a capacity of up to 600 kW. Under optimal conditions, it will be possible to charge an electric vehicle’s battery to 80% in about 10 minutes. Thanks to Pnrr funds, with approximately 7 million euros allocated, Electra installed 169 charging stations between the beginning of 2025 and June 2026. This equates to 338 ultra-fast charging points, with capacities ranging from 300 to 600 kW, across 11 Italian regions.

85% of the network concentrated in the North

To date, Electra has 82 ultra-fast charging stations across Italy, with 85.4% located in the North, 11% in the Central region, and 3.7% in the South and Islands. “The Pnrr has been a crucial tool for Electra to accelerate the development of our ultra-fast charging network in Italy. In about one and a half years, we have turned the allocated funds into over 300 charging points, with projects implemented in various Italian regions,” explains Eugenio Sapora, head of Electra Italia. What is the company’s future? “To continue growing at the same pace until 2030, with the goal of becoming a leader in ultra-fast charging, ensuring widespread presence both in urban areas and major rural routes.”
