Electra brings Mercedes charging to over 800 European stations

Starting November 1, 2026, Mercedes’ 47 fast-charging hubs in Europe will become part of the Electra network. This move stems from a new partnership between the two companies. MB.CHARGE Public customers will thus have access to over 800 charging stations and 5,000 charging points spread across ten European countries.

Depending on the plan subscribed to, drivers of electric Mercedes vehicles can enjoy discounted pricing, direct access through the manufacturer’s charging ecosystem, and the option to reserve a compatible charging station in advance before arrival.

Reservation and Discounted Rates

The agreement extends the experience currently available at Mercedes charging hubs to Electra locations. Through the MB.CHARGE Public service, customers gain more options and greater certainty when planning trips, especially in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland.

Compatible stations can be located and accessed directly from the in-car system or the Mercedes app. Compatible locations can be reserved in advance to reduce the risk of finding chargers occupied. Electra claims a network availability of over 98.5% and charging speeds of up to 600 kW in the selected areas.

A Larger Network in Germany

The 47 Mercedes hubs involved include 374 charging points, of which 31 are in Germany and six in Austria. They will continue to offer the same on-site charging experience to which customers were accustomed.

In Germany, this integration will increase Electra’s network from 50 to 81 stations. This expansion comes as other operators are similarly expanding their charging points in the sector.

Electra plans to invest 200 million euros solely in the German market next year. This growth plan for the fast-charging network complements the integrated digital experience offered by MB.CHARGE Public.

Quotes from the Two Partners

Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra, commented on Mercedes’ choice to rely on its network as follows: “Mercedes has built charging hubs to a standard that few networks can match. We are proud that they have chosen Electra to advance this initiative, opening up our entire network to their drivers with discounted rates, booking options, and direct access from the car.”

Nico Dettmer, head of Mercedes’ global charging solutions, explained: “Electric mobility is more than just the car itself. Charging is a crucial part of this promise to our EV customers. Together with Electra, we are making it even more accessible and convenient across Europe by adding over 800 locations to our premium partnership network.”

To use the MB.CHARGE Public digital service, a separate charging contract with a selected third-party provider is still required.
