The updated Mazda6e now has a price in Spain: 560 km range and 24-minute charging for 44,725 euros

Mazda has launched the new 2027 Mazda6e in Spain. Just over a year after its debut, this electric sedan receives a significant update that combines the best features of its two previous versions, offering charging speeds comparable to its earlier entry-level variant along with range similar to that of the previous top-tier model.

It’s worth recalling that the original Mazda6e was available with two powertrain options. The more affordable version featured a 258 HP (190 kW) engine paired with a 68.8 kWh LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery, providing a WLTP range of 479 km. It could be charged at a maximum power of 165 kW in DC (10-80% in 24 minutes).

Atop it was the Long Range version, which produced 245 HP (180 kW) and featured an NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) battery with a capacity of 80 kWh. This battery setup allowed it to achieve a WLTP range of 552 km. However, its peak charging rate was very low: at just 90 kW, it took exactly 47 minutes to go from 10% to 80% charge. This figure is clearly uncompetitive in today’s market.

The 2027 Mazda6e comes with a simplified lineup, offering only one version that retains the 258 HP (190 kW) engine, paired this time with an LFP battery having a capacity of 78 kWh. Its WLTP range is 560 km. The maximum charging power is 200 kW, so it takes 24 minutes to reach 80% charge. This new variant will arrive at dealerships in November with a starting price of 44,725 euros before any subsidies.

The Mazda6e also gets improved equipment

In addition, the lineup has been expanded with the introduction of the new Homura Plus trim level, which offers a more sporty appearance through bright black lower trims on both the side panels and front and rear bumpers. The interior features black Nappa leather upholstery and suede with red stitching.

The Takumi Plus trim is available in two interior combinations of Nappa leather and suede, one in Tan color and the new Warm Beige option. The Takumi version retains its Black Maztex interior, while the Warm Beige Maztex upholstery is no longer offered. There are also updates in other areas such as the chassis or safety systems.

Firstly, the regenerative braking capacity has been increased, while the suspension has been tuned to achieve a better balance between stability and ride comfort. The Traffic and Cruise Assistant can now operate at speeds up to 160 km/h, whereas the Lane Keeping Assist System offers, according to the manufacturer, "a smoother and more natural steering response." The navigation system also includes new features for searching for and filtering charging stations.
