The new Xpeng P7 is coming to Europe: the most stunning sedan on the market has already received approval

Xpeng has cleared up one of the uncertainties left by its appearance at the Munich Motor Show. The new P7 will enter the European market. This sedan will expand its lineup with a more sporty design aimed at attracting those seeking something different among electric cars of this size.

The confirmation comes from Yu Tao, Xpeng’s vice president of marketing. The executive mentioned an imminent launch, though no specific date, list of countries, or details about available versions have been provided. Thus, while the announcement confirms Xpeng’s intention to enter Europe, it does not yet indicate when Spanish buyers can expect to receive it.

This model is the second generation of the P7, launched in China in August 2025 and introduced to European consumers shortly after. It’s also important to clarify from the start that the new P7 and the P7+ are different vehicles. The latter is designed with more emphasis on space and family use, while the subject of this article places greater focus on its sleek silhouette and sporty character. In this case, Xpeng may have made a slight mistake with the naming, as it causes confusion. But by seeing photos of both, we can clearly distinguish them.

The design created by Rafik Ferrag is one of its main selling points. The P7 features a low, elongated body with clean surfaces and lighting that enhances its futuristic appearance. Xpeng claims an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.201, a figure that reflects the efforts made to reduce air resistance and which is particularly important for a sedan also designed for long trips.

Inside, the Chinese model includes a 15.6-inch motorized central screen that can adjust its orientation. The brand also offers front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, along with various comfort and customization features. It will have to wait until the European market launch to find out which of these amenities will be retained and how they will be distributed across different trims.

The official specifications for this model in China indicate a rear trunk capacity of 575 liters and a front trunk capacity of 56 liters. These figures help assess its practicality beyond just its design, though the space available for passengers and ease of access will be important factors to consider. A sporty-looking body style may be attractive but doesn’t necessarily meet all the needs of a family.

The P7 is available in China in three versions (two with rear-wheel drive and one with all-wheel drive). The entry-level model features a 367 HP (270 kW) engine paired with a 74.9 kWh LFP battery, enabling it to achieve a CLTC range of 702 km. The European P7+ uses the same battery but has a WLTP range of 530 km, so the P7 should have a similar range.

The mid-tier version uses the same engine but comes with a 92.2 kWh NCM battery pack, giving it a CLTC range of 820 km. Applying the same adjustment as to the P7, this would translate to around 620 km WLTP.

The top-of-the-line model has two engines, all-wheel drive, and 594 HP (437 kW); however, its range is reduced to 750 km CLTC. All versions benefit from an 800-volt architecture and support a 5C charging rate, allowing them to regain 525 km CLTC of range in just 10 minutes.

Fast charging is another strength of this model. Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, Xpeng claims a charge from 10% to 80% in about 11 minutes. This is a highly competitive time on paper, presumably for the LFP version, though it requires a suitable charger and optimal battery conditions. The final specifications for Europe will determine its actual performance compared to models sold here.

The price remains a major unknown. The P7+ starts at around 50,000 euros in Europe, so the P7 should be slightly higher, despite both cars being very similar in size and concept but quite different in design.

It remains to be seen how the P7 performs in terms of autonomous driving features. This is an aspect that increasingly influences customers' purchasing decisions, and where Xpeng stands out significantly.

The P7 boasts an attractive design, impressive performance, and promising charging capabilities that draw attention, but its commercial success will depend on its price point and purchasing conditions. Service network coverage, after-sales support, and Xpeng’s ability to build trust among new customers will also play a key role. The first step has already been taken: the car, which was showcased in Europe as a technological showcase, is now set to arrive at dealerships.
